"The house was the country home of Daniel O’Connell. It is beautifully presented and tells the story of his life with a celebration of his achievements. The rooms are each exactly as he might remember them and are authentically laid out. It all looks so lived in and almost as if he had just popped out. Again I make a very strong recommendation as it really does give a great insight to a bygone world."
"Well worth a visit if in the area. Very friendly staff in the house and the tearooms, really excellent food (the scones!!). Lots of lovely walks around the gardens and the beach is out of this world..."
"Beautiful beach with a lot of history and nature trails. Really worth a visit."
"Daniel O'Connell house cafe, very nice fresh food at a reasonable price, fast service from lovely staff. Parking available. Incredible surroundings with one of the best beaches in Ireland"
"This attraction offers a lot more than we first thought. The house and gardens are amazing but there is also a brilliant cafe on site. Food is excellent!! There are a few walks around the estate too. We went on a 3 hr hike starting from the gardens, along the beach, down by the harbour and takes in a good part of the Kerry Way. Relatively easy but not suitable for buggies. And then you have Derrynane Beach. It could be one of the spectacular beaches in the country. It’s stunning. So we went there for what we thought was going to be an hour or so. But you could easily spend the full day there. It’s really good."
