"If you are looking for a place where to see Highland Cows in their "natural habitat", this is it. If you are lucky, you can get really close to them, just me mindful that they are not used to being touched so please don't pet them. This farm is really close to the City Centre and the fact that is free, is mind-blowing. You get to see so much stuff and the views are just stunning. The staff at the restaurant are so friendly and they will help you find the cows or at least point at the right direction. The prices at the restaurant are good and their service and quality of food if amazing! If you are looking for a morning trip, head out to this farm and after seeing the Coos, head back to the restaurant and have some nice tea with homemade scones or the good ol' fish and chips! 100% recommended!"
"For the people who want to get closer to the famous Highland cows, this olace was much better than I expected. It was a short ride from city center, and after 20 minutes walk, we were able to encounter a large group, and be super close to them. Maybe we were lucky but we didn't expect to see so many and even be able to get that close. Bonus is that you can also get a full view from Edinburgh skyline from the top if the hill"
"Went looking for the Highland cows but didn't find them. Great coffe and walks. Amazing views of Edinburgh from the top of the hill."
"Came here to look for the highland cattle. The cows are not hard to find and you can but there’s quite a bit of incline to hike to reach them. You are allowed to explore the entire acreage of land they have and there’s a great view point of Edinburgh if you want to climb all the way to the top of the ridge. Great for people who are staying only in Edinburgh and want to see the cows."
"Almost died but worth the trip. I must say I visited a multiple times and each time I come with more and more respect to the cows. People don’t realise how dangerous and still wild these animals are. This time a person rode a motorbike from the top hill causing all the highland cows to get scared. The whole herd (like 20) in panic started running, aiming it for the humans. If I didn’t jump to the right, or chose a different direction etc. the black cow would’ve run me over or spiked me with its horns. It was really scary. Then they stood on the path, almost like protecting it and we couldn’t leave until they let us. This is just a warning that they are still wild animals and are easy to startle! Otherwise, it’s a really nice walk up the hills and a lovely view of Edinburgh. Also an incredible experience to see highland cows so close!"
