"Very good value. Clean pleasant room. Excellent breakfast and central location. The hotel experienced a power cut when we were there, but the staff were helpful and overall great. Its not without fault: a bit shabby here and there, but wouldn't hesitate to go there again or to recommend it."
"Hotel is fine but nothing to write home about. I've stayed here multiple times for work. Rooms are a good size. Reasonably clean but not spotless. Shower pressure was pretty low when I had a 4th floor room, better on lower floors. Lifts are cramped and slow but difficult to find stairs you can use so takes a while to get in/out of the hotel. Buffet breakfast is reasonable quality. Broad selection + decent coffee machine. Efficient service, professional and unobtrusive. Hotel lacks character but gets all the basics right so a good option if there for work"
"A worse experience. I thought for the price we spent per night will find a fabulous clean space with clean rooms and excellent service! However, we checked in to a room with broken lamp! they sent us a technician to fix it while we are in the room with an infant, the technician entered with dirty shoes which means the hotel does not work on any cleanness standards that is to be followed by all staff. The electricity socket was removed by the technician yet we had to stay with 1 side lamp only which is a dropping point in the efficiency of room tools! we asked to change our room but they neglected our request and simply told us that no room available whilst there is on hotel booking sites. The walking corridors and door frames cleanness would give this hotel less than expected. A pleased guest is their last priority I think thats why they are rated as 3.9 on reviews."
"First comment - this hotel is not worth the price paid. I appreciate you pay a premium to be in the centre of Edinburgh but at the same time you expect a certain standard with that. On arrival we were greeted by a friendly chap who checked us in. Our room was sub standard. Small. Sofa bed for a child, which is just terrible. Why there are no proper family rooms set up, with proper beds for children is beyond me. Daughter found the bed terrible uncomfortable. There is a desk and chair in the room which you couldn't use because the small was so limited when the sofa bed is laid out. The on site restaurant is seriously overpriced rubbish. The food is poor quality and costs a fortune. None of the meals come with veg, so expect to pay another £5 to get that included. Over £50 for two mains, one side and a kids meal. There's so many nearby eateries, go there instead and get a better quality meal for less money. Breakfast was included in our price and was a decent selection. Made up for the terrible experience for the evening meal the night before. Parking onsite is £10 a night. We made use of this instead of trying to find places to park, and due to the location of the hotel, it was within walking distance of most of the attractions within central Edinburgh. Overall I wouldn't recommend this place."
"Excellent and friendly staff. Whatever I needed was accommodated for me. Rooms and bathroom were clean with an amazing shower-head faucet. Good air circulation with AC in the room. Great continental breakfast with many choices (£14/person). Hotel near many attractions and bars: We were able to walk the city. There is a 24-hr convenient store open nearby as well. We paid ~$140/night for 1 full bed (these are bigger than American standard full) and one additional cot. The only complaint I have would be the pillows were a bit hard for my liking on all the beds."
