Reviews
"Good location with lots of free parking. Only a mile out of the city centre with a few bus stops on the main road. Lots of pubs, shops and petrol stations nearby. Very affordable at £70 per night plus £12 pp for breakfast if booked in advance. Rooms are decent and well sized with good showers. There's heating and air conditioning with openable windows. They could do with better contractors tho as the repairs I've seen were shocking, cowboy level. All the staff were very nice, polite and helpful. The restaurant is ok. Food is basic but good but fairly expensive for what it is. However the breakfast buffet is really good with lots of variety. I preferred it here compared to Premier Inn. This is a good affordable place for a short stay or on a tight budget. I'd happily stay here again."
"After a busy afternoon in a very crowded York, a warm welcome was received when we walked in the hotel. All staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. We have stayed at this hotel many, many times and this is the first review i have written. The reason i have this time is not only to praise all the staff, but to give a massive shout out to the chef. Our evening meal was outstanding! Taste, presentation and deliverance."
"Best nights sleeps ever. All the staff were very pleasant and the guy on the reception this morning with blonde hair and glasses his service was beyond amazing. The breakfast was really nice had everything you could ever want. The hotel is in a great location with a bar and restaurant downstairs and 2 across the road."
"Our room was great and the bed comfortable. The bathroom was smartly decorated although very small. The restaurant area is large and open although rather brown for my taste. Breakfast was well stocked. The restaurant doesn't take bookings and when we arrived they said it would take an hour to get food. It was annoying so we went to one of the local pubs instead. We left the car in the car park and walked into York and back twice. It's about 2 miles each way, to the centre. You can go along the main road or go via the river. You learn a lot walking, seeing things we wouldn't have even known about like the riverside parks. There is a bus stop nearby and we saw plenty of buses. Overall this is a decent hotel, clean and tidy. The outside looks a bit like a 1970s office block and its inside has a feel of that era. I'd stay here again although it wouldn't be an automatic choice."
"After reading the reviews was a bit apprehensive but we had a GREAT stay! Rooms were clean modern nice. Common areas are a bit dated as is the outside of the building but who cares. We aren’t sleeping in the hall ways lol. The rooms were great and Jack at the front desk was super nice and helpful."
