"This place met and exceeded expectations. The room was fine although a little tired compared to some premier inns I'd stayed in BUT.... Oh the staff. Vicky on reception (and everywhere else) was exceptional. It was my 60th birthday and I couldn't have asked for better service or kindness. I won't say what Vicky, Emily or the chap in charge on Saturday night (sorry I didn't get his name) did for us but I've never had this at any other hotel.. And I've stayed in expensive and budget hotels. Just the best experience ever. Highly recommend this place. Perfect location for York with the park and ride only 3 miles away. Thank you for allowing us, and our extended family, to stay in your hotel xxx"
"Ideally located, although the entrance off the main road could do with street lights as it is difficult to see in the dark. Maybe some speed humps too as people do drive down pretty fast, and when you have small children it can be dangerous. Staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Excellent service. Rooms are pretty clean, maybe the odd cobweb in a corner but that's not a problem. Clean bedding and towels, comfy beds. And you hardly notice the traffic noise on the nearby A64. Will definitely stay there again"
"Room would have been given 5 stars but it was quite cold. Very comfortable and warm once snuggled up in bed and slept very well. Breakfast was excellent and plenty of it. All in all a good experience"
"Very friendly and helpful staff. The room was clean and warm, the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was superb, hot and tasty and served up exactly as requested. Fantastic stay can unreservedly recommend."
"My partner and I have stopped at many premier inns over the years, but this was the worst one to date. We arrived and checked in,we asked if there was an evening meal available the manger said yes no problem we can do you a meal deal for £30 for the 2 of you,so I paid the £30 and we sat down to eat 60 minutes later, looked at the menu and ordered 1 prawn cocktail and 1 soup, then for our main meal we ordered chicken chargrilled with chips and salad. The prawn cocktail had a big tomato at the bottom with a big mound of lettuce and 6 prawns and a piece of stale Gibraltar bread,I had the Broccoli soup,it tasted like water with herbs and a piece of stale bread.the main meal was chicken and chips with a little salad, the chicken looked like a piece of Gammon and was dry to taste. It was very disappointing, and I’m sorry to say breakfast was not a lot better,it was cooked to order, and my grandson of 11 could of done a better breakfast. I wish we’d eaten at McDonald’s just over the road, better quality and better value for money. However the room was fine, but we will not be visiting this premier inn again."
