"Very wet and soggy but with the time of year and the downpours the previous day not really surprising. Nice hike , part alongside the river was my favourite. Beautiful scenery. No dogs allowed."
"Myself and my husband completed this nightmare trail yesterday. The two dogs at the beginning were very aggressive and it was very scary.Only for the owner shouting at them to come back, they would have probably bit us as my husband asked the owner would they bite and he said probably. How are these dogs aloud to be out and about when it's obvious the dogs are vicious. The trail is very dangerous because its extremely slippy, some parts are deep and the signage is terrible. It took us 4 hours and we were very relieved to get back to our car. The scenery is beautiful but its hard to enjoy it when every step is a worrying step. My advice is DONT Do This....Go somewhere else. If by posting this review I stop someone doing this trail then I have succeeded"
"Lovely hike on a nice day dry day ..Bog and marsh for a good bit of the trial so need to watch your step. Beautiful streams and rivers. It's very isolated with all but some sheep to keep you company! Be Careful: Start the trail from left to right / Clockwise. I did it the other way and found it tricky to follow the waymarks. The direction to take is not made clear from the sign at the start. There is No Telephone or GPS Signal for most of the trial. Notes when walking the root in a clockwise direction: - walk all the way down to the river running by the woods - follow the woods around the corner - Important: at the Woods once you Turn the Corner, Watch Out for Stakes up to the Right which will take you over the mountain - there is NO Waymark here (it's very easy to miss!) and there are stakes continuing up along the woods so it is confusing which direction to take. I kept following the stakes up along the woods and added on at least an hour to my hike having to retrace my steps and continue in the correct direction again. I look forward to doing it again on a fine day! Enjoy!"
"The walk is noted on the trail placard in the car park as 3-4 hour hike for moderate fitness level. It took us five hours. If you want to stop for some water breaks, lunch break and taking many photos while enjoying the scenery at an unhurried pace, this is the more realistic time frame to allow. It's well worth every consequent muscle ache as the day was exceptional, the scenery breathtaking, and many moments of pure magic along the way."
