"This place is pure magic! From the moment you walk in the door, to sitting down for your 1st sociable to listening to stories & history of Clifden & Abbey Glen, topped off with a glass of bubbly before heading upstairs to the dining room for an enjoyable meal. There is a great energy with Abbey Glen & I'm already looking forward to a return trip!"
"I stayed here last year with my girlfriend. It was the best hotel experience we have had. Beautiful building and grounds. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch. It was so nice listening to the music in the evening, John coneely and other providing the entertainment. Our favourite part was going down to the late bar where the music continued....hoping to stay here again in the summer and I will bring my family. Highly reccomend"
"WONDERFUL staff, exceptionally friendly and so accommodating. I’m Irish and live in Australia for 25 years, I booked a two night stay with dinner for 5 of us, including my father who still lives in Dublin and is a no-nonsense-type of person. He loved it all! John at the bar is a gem! The minute we left we missed it and raved about it everyone. Funnily enough there were so many of our Irish friends who stayed there over the years and we all felt the same. The beauty spa was wonderful too!! So beautiful! 10 out of 10. Abbeyglen Castle Hotel is very special place and we’ll be back!"
"Stayed here 1 night at the start of our 10 day Ireland trip. Traveled with my mom and sister and we loved this stay! The food was amazing - both the dinner and breakfast were included in our stay. The pastries and breads were fresh and the best of our entire trip. Staff was friendly and attentive. We thouroughly enjoyed the champagne reception where the owner gave us the history of the castle and the Clifden area - certainly a not-to-bem-missed highlight of the visit! The room was nice - the only issue we had was that I had requested a room with 3 beds and we received a room with only 2, so 2 of us had to share. Aside from that minor inconvenience, though, we really enjoyed this stop and would certainly recommend it!"
"The most wonderful hotel in Clifden. As a family owned and run business you can feel the love for the castle, the area and across all of the staff when you are here. Great for a weekend away, a meal or a drink (with live music if you're lucky) while you are visiting the area. A spot not to be missed!"
