"Stayed 3 nights at the lodge. A really wonderful experience in a tranquil location, 20 mins walk to Celbridge through the estate along by the river Liffey. House is very well looked after and Breda is great to give tips for places to visit. It is a big step back in time, but well worth it. Knowing the history makes the stay even better."
"Beautiful little building, stayed here for our July holiday with the dog. It is an incredible charity that has the vision and interest in architecture to make this stay possible. It’s not for everyone. If you want a power shower, WiFi or a pillow menu, this isn’t for you. If you are ok with a rickety old stair case and like interesting buildings, you’ll get it. Clean and well equipped kitchen. Loved it. This is our third Irish landmark trust stay, it was pretty and worth recommending."
"Nice area with meadow sweeping down to River Liffey. Nice area for taking it easy and a picnic or a walk. The lodge has a lovely style and aspect and I believe it can be rented"
"Gorgeous Gothic gate lodge now available for overnight stays via Irish Landmark Trust. Dog-friendly and very well equipped for self-catering, with dishwasher and washer/dryer as well. Super cozy during cold weather and glorious during sunny weather, it's hard to imagine a time of year when it wouldn't be ideal for a getaway from Dublin. Best backyard in Ireland."
"It's not a 3 star hotel, it's a self catering cottage. Quiet location with good outlook. Compact but well set up. Good local walking and access to Castletown House."
