"We spent 3 nights in this hotel. The location is very good, in terms of the center of Dublin, to take any type of transport. It is a nice place. Bedroom with kingsize bed, spacious, impeccably clean, full bathroom (if you don't have a hair dryer, ask for one at reception). Spectacular breakfast and in my opinion for all kinds of tastes. Highlight the exquisite treatment of the staff, both at the reception and in the rest of the services. Special thanks to Ursula, for her attention and for guiding us in terms of transportation, places to see and being so nice. I give a 10 to the hotel and a 10 to this trip."
"Like many of the previous reviews I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I have started with a review of the room but please read my whole review as this was the only negative part. The room was a complete disappointment. We booked a room for three because our adult daughter was vacationing with us. The room was small and the furniture looked old and cheap. Our “king” bed was two singles pushed together and you could feel the edge of each mattress down the middle. The headboard was for a double so looked silly with the “king”. The window curtains were frayed and the sheets were on a wire (something from the 60s). The window ledge was painted white and touched up a few times with different shades of paint - not sure why someone should not just repaint the whole ledge. There was a hairdryer but it was attached to the dresser and we needed to wiggle the plug to get it to work. The bathroom was clean but again aged. There was shampoo but no conditioner. Plenty of towels. Water was hot. There was a kettle with tea and coffee - but only two cups and glasses - even though the room is set up for three. The chair was old and the covering was stained. We stayed here two nights - glad I hadn’t booked for longer. As others have said this room was more what you would expect to find in a hostel rather than a hotel. Now why a 3 star rating - because the rest of this review is about the good stuff. The restaurant and bar were both excellent. Breakfast was included and good - although we would have liked a choice of fried rather than scrambled eggs as they were hard and tasteless. Other than that the breakfast was good with a choice of hot and cold foods. The service was friendly and welcoming. The bar was modern, ambiance was lovely and service was exceptional. The foyer of the hotel was clean and bright and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very efficient. I consider the cost for two nights expensive due to the substandard room. If the room had been better I would have considered the price fair for down town Dublin near the bus terminal. I hope the hotel management read these reviews and update the rooms so that they match the other services. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel - but the bar is worth a visit if you are staying close bye."
"So far so terrible, arrived to the hotel after using the online check-in while also trying to figure out the looming 100euro deposit on prepayment warning . Arrived with all our details and got asked 21 questions just to check into our room . Staff were no way helpful and had given away our booked room to another guest . In exchange instead of getting a semi decent room ( one can assume ) we were instead given a dungeon room in which we had to go up and down stairs and through what felt like several types of hotel with the inconsistency in floors and walls . To go down two flights of stairs to the underground where our love double ‘room’ awaited . Instantly we were met with the smell of chlorine which and panes of glass as the windows were locked . The only breath of ventilation was from the bathroom window which in itself smelled of damp. I was honestly shocked that they shilled out this room to us which most definitely felt like a downgrade than what we originally booked while of course still getting full price for their mistake . I honestly will be avoiding this place in the future as honestly I’ve seen hostels in better spec . Feel ripped off to be honest"
"I cannot say anything positive about this hotel aside the staff were very helpful. The rooms are very very basic and for the price paid, I would have been better off staying in the local backpackers hostel. There were smoke detectiors covered up in the room, the fire alarm went off and on for nearly an hour during the night. The floors creaked, you could hear people moving around above you, then the noise of the trains during my stay. I had no hot water to bath in the morning and the list goes on. My advice, avoid this hotel at all costs, it's not worth the money paid."
"This was our first stop on our honeymoon and we weren’t expecting much based on some of the reviews, but the staff were AMAZING. They surprised us with a free room upgrade and decorated the bed with rose petals. The staff were very very nice and really went the extra mile for us. The room was clean and comfortable. Despite being right beside the train line, the noise didn’t bother us too much. But it was really the staff that made the stay here awesome, thank you!!"
