"This was once a beautiful forest but has recently been destroyed. Large sections of the forest have been cut down and the walking path is no longer accessible due to the debris left behind. A real shame."
"Lovely place for some sunset photos"
"A forest walk that’s Off the beaten track! It’s quiet, overgrown in parts and can be a bit of an adventure with some rough terrain! But the dogs loved it! It was easy enough to follow the trails, but there is no signage except for a car park sign that looks like it hasn’t been read in a long time! I will definitely be back but next time I’ll bring water!"
"Lovely place!"
"Beautiful forest walk with lots of trees, overgrown bushes and wildflowers, and not very touristy (no maps or signage). Driving up the start of the walk there's a small clearing where you can park your car. A wooden fence marks the start of the forest walk and there seems to be at least two different loop trails you can take (no map showing the trails so not exactly sure). We followed the wider path directly on the other side of the fence and walked until we came to a clearing with a large spruce on the right. From this spot, there were two routes to take - a narrower overgrown path directly in front or a wider more worn path on the right. We took the right-hand side path first which seemed to take us southwards and upwards (but not steep) and eventually through the forest and up to some wooden benches with views over some fields towards the lake, and then through the forest and back to the main path where we eventually got back to the clearing with the spruce again. Then we took the other more overgrown path which took us upwards (narrower and steeper) and along one side of the forest edge. The second loop trail was harder than the first a bit rockier so I recommend some sturdy hiking boots if you're taking that route. It's a great spot, probably more for the locals than the tourists. Would be great if they added a map at the start of the walk showing the different trails you can take though because there were some times where the path isn't that obvious and it's quite remote so you don't want to get lost here."
