"An interesting hotel that's trying very hard. I booked a single room and was pleasantly surprised to be allocated a spacious room that was very nice. A large window overlooking a small garden area. My window opened nice and wide to help cool down the room for me. The room was perfectly clean. There are tea and coffee making facilities, iron and ironing board as well as a hairdryer. Bed was very comfortable. The radiator has a thermostat which was great for turning off the heating so I could keep the room nice and cool. Plenty of different channels on the TV, all of which were working. The bathroom was of a medium size with towels and toiletries. The only negative I could possibly see was the shower was in the bath with a shower curtain but I'm being really picky about this point. The WiFi connection was reliable and speed was good. Breakfast is a served breakfast from a menu with a decent selection and was served with minimal delay. The coffee was good as was my choice of scrambled eggs and bacon. Tara at reception was friendly and efficient at check-in which was welcome after a long and tiring day. Any staff I came across were good at this hotel. Plenty of car parking too."
"My wife and I stayed here Sat 11th March. Service was top notch and our room was available earlier than expected which was nice. Lunch in the bar was very good, our couples massage in the Orchard Spa next to the hotel was fantastic as was our use of the pool and jacuzzi. Reception was very welcoming and helpful with a taxi into town for us. My only complaint and it's a small one is the rooms could use a bit of modernization but other than that it had everything we needed and was clean and tidy. I'd recommend this hotel no problem"
"Had a lovely weekend here. The rooms were excellent and good value for money. Staff were helpful - especially at the reception. Food was really nice and reasonably priced. Room service available 24hrs which we really loved after coming in from a night out. Pool was great also. I just wish the bar had been open when we stayed. But overall, we would definitely go back."
"Nice, but very overpriced. We paid nearly 200 euro for one night here and really could not figure out how this price was justified, especially since its a little way out of town. There were much cheaper options in the centre of Kilkenny, which in hindsight would have been better value."
"Rooms were fine - no complaints, but it was very expansive and I'd expect something a little more luxurious. Breakfast was, I'm sorry to say, very poor. I got spiced baked beans, mushrooms, and pancake - sounded lovely on paper. However, the baked beans had a skin on it, the mushrooms were soggy, and the pancakes were soggier. The pastries at buffet were nice, but too small and a poor selection. One star given as I wouldn't stay again as it is now - felt very shortchanged."
