"The hotel is okay. The staff are nice and it's clean. But it's not a 4 star hotel don't know how they can call it such! No aircon so no way of controlling the room temp. No obvious in-room food & drinks menu or QR code at least that I could see. Very silly really as missed revenue. There was no complimentary water, no mini fridge. This has been mentioned by previous guests and nothing done to rectify. The bathroom was very outdated. No shampoo or conditioner sets but just one lonely bottle in the shower which doubles as a shampoo and body wash, this is definitely not the standard you would expect at a 4 star hotel. All in all, it feels like they are cutting corners at every turn, some serious cost-saving measures. Given the room decor, lack of comfort and detail, the hotel is really a 2 star hotel in my opinion. Here's a snippet I'd encourage management to read - What makes a hotel 3 or 4 stars? Three star: A broad range of amenities are available, exceeding above-average accommodation needs. Service and design are of good quality. Four star: With a wide range of facilities, superior design qualities and excellent service, these hotels offer a deluxe guest experience. This Maldron barely meets 3 stars"
"Really nice room and really nice and friendly stuff, especially Magdalena in Bar. Pool is really warm and nice for kids but water can be cleaner. There is no bathrobes or makeup mirror in bathroom. Food choices for dinner are great and food is nice and tasty but breakfast had space for improving."
"Lovely two night stay with my husband. We booked from Dublin and found everything to be quite nice. The room was especially clean and neat. Friendly staff. Amble parking. We enjoyed using the Vitae gym area."
"As a family of 6 it's difficult to find a hotel that can accommodate us all in 1 room. From reception staff, bar, restaurant and housekeeping and leisure centre everyone was so nice and so helpful. Food was delicious and everywhere spotless. So impressed. Its been a few years since I stayed here and we were a smaller family then but we will definitely be back again."
"First and foremost, the front desk staff are excellent! Their customer service skills and politeness was unmatched in our two week stay in Ireland. The location worked well for us, and the parking lot was big enough to house our large vehicle in the back with no issues. Unfortunately, I can't say the hotel fit our needs in a way that suited us. If you are a light sleeper like I am, noise can wake you up quickly. Our room was on the first floor that just happened to be right over the hotel restaurant. At around 3AM, the kitchen cleaning staff started to scrape and clean the kitchen vents which in turn echoed through our room on the first floor and on the 2nd floor above us (I checked around 4AM to determine the cause of the noise). I went to the front desk where the gentleman in charge went to the kitchen and asked the staff to be quiet. This for the most part worked, as the kitchen cleaning staff stopped scraped the kitchen vents, but they still proceeded to do other cleaning work which at that point made me going back to sleep a hopeless cause. I don't fault the kitchen staff, they're just doing their job, but I do fault the thin walls and floors of the building. In the morning, we requested a new room on the opposite side of the building which we were granted. The hospitality at this location is excellent, but if you are a light sleeper like I am, be sure to not get a room over the restaurant. The walls and floors are not thick enough to ensure a restful night sleep."
