Inis Meáin Island Stays , County Galway H91 NX86

"Absolutely fabulous.. I am a soft reviewer so this place deserves 10 stars! Quality everywhere...fabrics, duvets, pillows, kitchen appliances, utility, fishing rods, Yoga mats ...everything you could ever think of ... books, solar under ground granite floors, peace and tranquility... Top notch. The owners , a lovely family full of life , kindness , inclusiveness and entertainment .. My husband and I were just guests invited by beautiful friends for a surprise overnight stay. Alto from Galway city, we never visited this Aran island before. It's non touristy hence special. No frills and pseudo talk just honest realism. Only one delightful local bar , no restaurants or cafes, no tvs, just true life. Weather of no consequence but we did get some beautiful sunshine for our bicycle adventures. ..obviously a hidden micro climate lurking somewhere west Atlanitc . Inis meainn suites has a boat house( 2 bed ensuite) the frills and also hosts a 4 bed family/ friends suites in the main hotel area with stunning views. . To top top it all was the chef BOSS himself......a bright man full of enthusiasm and intelligent grit. Not like Carlsberg' probably ".....the lobster ruairi poached was the best ever EVER...not probably!!!!!!!"

"Inhospitable! At short notice visited the wonderful island a while back and had to stay in a B&B. Asked if they could give me dinner, - just one more guest - and they said NO, knowing everywhere else was closed."

"I have stayed here twice and in my view Inis Meáin Suites is simply the best place in Ireland. There is nowhere better if you want to get a weekend away. The restaurant is a delight and the owners and their team are wonderful. The building is special and the design is stunning. At first glance there is very little on the island but that is the whole point. Go there to relax and unwind. Walk the entire island and go swim in the sea. You will find yourself just spacing out as you idly watch the changing colours of the landscape and expansive views across Galway Bay. It is very difficult to get into as they only have 5 rooms but it is worth every bit of effort and perseverance that you make to get there. The large suite is great but to be honest the standard rooms are just as good and better value."
