"Popped in here after a trip to moher! Had carrot and ginger soup was amazing. Had the oysters again absolutely amazing. Kids had scampi and cod they loved it! I had the battered cod and chips loved it! Staff are great place is a nice venue I will be back!"
"Really lovely atmosphere and excellent staff. Very accommodating around food intolerances for one our party and the food super fresh. With the excellent fish and chips, for the price and quality of the place I would have liked mushy peas or a salad garnish at least. Pretty normal elsewhere. That is my only quibble, apart from a bit more caper and pickle in the tartar sauce would be appreciated . Highly recommend."
"We stayed for a night at Vaughn's in December during the "Irish big freeze" (don't laugh, -5 brings the country to it's knees, we just aren't prepared for it Dinner was eaten in front of a roaring fire and I was extremely grateful for it. Service was superb with very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble. The menu seemed a little odd at first but I wouldn't mark the place down for this. My wife is something of a pescatarian and doesn't eat meat anymore. The menu has a couple of seafood dishes that push the boundaries for this. The chips that come with "fish and chips" are cooked in beef dripping. My wife isn't that fussy and had this anyway and I have to say it was gorgeous (I had a small sample). Another fish dish has a sauce containing chicken of all things. Again, the. Sauce can be left out but the crossover of meat into fish dishes may upset some people. I had a venison dish. I would usually have meat fairly well cooked, perhaps medium well. I didn't consider this at the time and when the dish came to the table my first thought was that a good vet could bring the animal back to life. However, I persevered and it was truly amazing. The flavours and textures combined to make this a memorable meal This is not a cheap or even a reasonably priced place. It is expensive. I would judge that it was worth the cost. Altogether a great experience for dinner. Breakfast the next day was more of the same high quality , highlighted by the homemade hash browns."
"One of the best traditional Irish breakfasts I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating, and I’ve had my share! Wonderful, local produce and impeccably cooked. The rooms are lovely and the staff make you feel very welcome. We didn’t have time to sample the dinner menu but a quick read of it has ensured a return visit and the small details like the homemade cookies in your room are guaranteed to put a smile on your face."
"We came for lunch. Service was slow. Waitress was good but the food took ages. Kids had fish and chips very impressive . I had salmon which was yum but mu sister had chowder , only ok like vegetable soup with a few fish bits added. View of the sea from restaurant amazing"
