"My favorite hotel that I have ever stayed at. Lovely hotel on the Irish countryside, so quiet and peaceful. Wonderful service, delicious breakfast, loved the bar. Great experience!"
"Stayed two nights here in May. Absolutely fantastic stay and would stay here again and again. Wonderful breakfast, beautiful grounds. The dining room was closed for dinner while we were there, unfortunately, so I can't comment on that. Spent some time strolling the grounds on the field and woodland walk and even peeked in the back at their impressive gardens. Only disappointment was they don't sell bags of their delicious house blend herbal tea for me to take home. So yummy! We had a late check in our first night and had to pre-arrange as they're not staffed at the desk 24hrs. They were very accommodating though. Highly recommend if you're looking for a peaceful, country stay. Loved it."
"Stayed here several time in past year. Worth a detour. Great rooms -very clean and comfortable. Outstanding service. Fabulous views across the Burren. Very dog friendly. Very good wifi in room"
"Stayed with two dogs. Great service. Tasting menu was not to one of our liking, but they accommodated dietary requirements"
"A beautiful house hotel in the heart of the Burren. It's not a castle but seemingly takes its name from a castle watch tower nearby. Friendly helpful staff. Very quiet on Thursday when we arrived, only one other couple there but on Friday it was full for the weekend so a bit more atmosphere. Bar food options are very limited, only snack choices available, we were very disappointed with this as we had to drive again ( after a long drive already) into Ballyvaughan for dinner. We had a drink in the bar when we returned, and I was served my G&T in an ordinary straight long glass. I had requested a G&T glass but was told they don't do those! We had a very comfortable bedroom, although it was quite dark. I requested tea making facilities as this wasn't in the room. We would have preferred a duvet on the bed instead of blankets. Hairdryer very basic, It had no cap or diffuser. The toiletries in the bathroom were nice, but basic - no extra essentials provided, so I was glad I brought my own. I was disappointed that they were not locally made products because of where we were or at least Irish made. Room and house exceptionally clean. Beautifully decorated throughout with a mix of eclectic unique art pieces and furniture, both contemporary and antique, that worked very well together. Open fires downstairs with smells of turf and wood burning, giving a warm homely feel. Dinner on Friday night was delicious. It was a 7 course tasting menu (from my recollection) with an option to choose a shorter version of 3, which we opted for. It was delicious, as was the food for breakfast too except on Sunday there were no pastries left when we arrived down for breakfast. We were not late, nor were we the last party that arrived for breakfast. There appeared to be a shortage of staff too, as there was no table set for us. It put a slight damper on our last morning there. Overall, it was a lovely place to stay but not an exceptional experience for the price. It is very expensive for what you get."
