"I am after returning from a very disappointing stay in the Dean. We were given room 10 on the bottom floor located across from the outdoor area/smoking area to the restaurant. On Friday night the music was extremely loud and at 10.30pm I decided to go down and speak to somebody about this. The receptionist assured me that the music on the terrace would be turned down and that all music would stop at 11pm. However the music did not stop at 11pm and the music was not lowered. Between the music and people shouting on the terrace we got no sleep. On Saturday night the music was not as loud which leads me to believe the music was not turned down the night before however again the noise of people on the terrace/in the corridors led us to having little sleep again. At checkout we were asked how was our stay and I told the receptionist that we were extremely disappointed and explained the situation in which she replied ‘ya there was a lot of Christmas parties on this weekend… did ye having anything from the minibar in the room’ we replied 'no'. I find it difficult to understand how Christmas parties are more valued than paying customers, especially when we paid 500 for a two night stay. We booked the Dean specifically as it has a good name however we got no satisfaction. I decided to give the hotel one more chance at rectifying the situation and I sent them an email stating the above and I was extremely shocked to receive an email back with zero accountability or satisfaction, just lots of excuses for the noise. I would not recommend staying in this hotel if you are looking to get value for money or sleep."
"Stayed here back in June and can honestly say what a gem to galway. The hotel wasn't long open so there was some slight minor issues but nothing one could not oversight due to teething problems. We were dissapointed that the pool was not open , so decided the next time we would return would be when they open it. Drinks in Elephant and Castle were great and the vibe in the bar was second to none. Later that evening we had dinner in Sophie's and again a great menu with first class service. The overstocked rooms were class, yes there was for charge for some items but these were reasonable and were a great asset to the room if one was stuck! Bathrooms were great and that shower was the answer to a powerful wake up call after indulging on the cocktail menu you the night before. We had a late brunch in Elephant and Castle and it was served efficiently and could not have tasted any nicer . Before we left we chilled in the Lobby and grabbed coffee in the Dime Coffee bar in the Lobby. All in a 5* experience The good news i see the pool and gym are open so look forward to checking them out on the 19th November. See ye then !"
"We absolutely loved our stay here! Spent a long weekend, celebrating a birthday! We reserved two rooms, and could not have been happier. The showers were powerful, the beds were the most comfortable, and all the little touches were there. Including a flat iron with the blow dryer! The record player added just the right touch- and you could get more of them from the media room if you wished. Definitely made getting ready a lot more fun! The gym is next level state of the art! They offer an array of classes, advice, and assistance on friendly and understanding terms. The sauna was not working sadly. But we enjoyed the heated pool immensely, and the locker rooms after. Sophie’s gave us an unforgettable birthday evening- and that is all thanks to Andrew. Dinner was absolutely stunning. Most amazing city views from the rooftop! Honestly from checking in to checking out this was by far one be of our most favorite hotel stays! The Dean has every thing you could wish for and more!"
"We ab-so-lutely loved our stay in this hotel. Location is great, close to city centre but far enough for some peace and quiet. The building is simply stunning top to bottom. The room was great, beds are comfortable, amazing mini bar and snacks, spacious bathroom. We especially enjoyed the record player in our room, when it wasn't working the lovely staff replaced it immediately. Having breakfast or dinner with a lovely view? Sophie's restaurant and rooftop terrace is the place to be. We had a lovely dinner at Elephant & Castle downstairs. Some tapas to share and a great cocktail, what's not to like? No doubt, would visit again."
"This was my first time staying at any of the Dean hotels and I was more than impressed. As soon as I arrived, with all the music vibes, I felt right at home. While checking in and out, the staff were lovely and I had a laugh both times. The room was exactly my vibe. I was so impressed by the snack bar, Rennie and everything! If I ask real nice, again, can I have the Marshall speaker? Please? Haha...(I'm not joking though) After having breakfast in Sophie's, I went to check the accessible toilet because so many of them are used as storage rooms and are just not fit for use at all, or else there's an issue with the emergency cord. Colour me extremely impressed to find the accessible loo not only empty and perfect for use, but decorated so nicely! I understand the hotel is pricey and not for everybody, but I felt right at home and more importantly, I felt safe. I was comfortable that if I'd been ill or had a seizure, I would be looked after because the whole place felt so openly inclusive to disabled people. Hopefully I will be back for a longer stay."
