"There were good and bad aspects to this hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful whether it was check-in, checkout, laundry services, and luggage storage. The location in downtown galway was super convenient. However, the rooms and bathrooms were just ok, a little run down. There was a lot of noise in the hallways and it sounded like construction was occurring throughout the hotel early in the morning which was quite disruptive. Also, loud seagulls roost on the roof which make it tough to sleep. No fitness center and very warm inside the hotel (no AC)."
"The noise of construction work in the hotel when we arrived was absolutely disgraceful. There was no email or notice sent before arriving that there would be such noise and work going on. The receptionist told us when we checked in, but that itls far too late. It stopped by 5, but it was deafening up until then. Every guest we passed complained about it. The lift only worked when it felt like it. The amount of older couples having to use the stairs, because the lift took average 4/5 minutes to arrive. Hotel should be ashamed. Our room was right beside the housekeeping storage. They were opening and slamming the door from early hours of the morning and gathering to have their chats. Breakfast was a joke, very understaffed. We were seated at a dirty table with plates still on from the previous guests. Because of the plates on the table we were ignored by the 2 staff members on the floor. We asked them to clear the table and they said they would, they didn't. Couples that were sat after us had their tables cleared, drinks and menus given, while we still sat at a dirty table. After 15 minutes of being ignored, we left to go get better service outside of the hotel. The breakfast staff had the cheek to say goodbye as we left after ignoring us. Definitely will not be returning and will share this review among friends looking to stay in Galway."
"The hotel is nice and in a good location a close walk to the Latin quarter and other continence shops. The other guests were exceedingly loud thru the 2 nights we stayed there. The seagulls were also a bit noisy. The room was clean and there were chargers by the beds. the parking by the train station where we parked the hotel doesn't validate for. They told us only at the end of our trip when they offered to validate our parking. The cost for the train station parking wasn't too bad anyway. If you're looking to stay here just make sure to ask upfront where to park if you want to be validated."
"Very small room for $135€/nt but overall nice quiet safe and clean. Bed/pillows shower all good. Location very good for train or bus service. Some great local pubs across the street."
"I recently stayed at the Eyre Square Hotel in Galway for one night and overall, I had a decent experience. The location of the hotel was definitely a plus, as it was very close to the bus station and easy to reach. Upon arrival, my friend and I were able to get a room as walk-ins and were given a reasonable price. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, with all the basic amenities provided. The bathroom was also clean and warm, which was especially appreciated after a long day spent exploring the windy Cliffs of Moher. The hotel's staff were friendly and accommodating, and we had no issues during our stay. One potential downside was that we didn't have the chance to try out the hotel's bar, as we were too tired after our day of adventure. However, from a quick glance, it did look like a nice spot to unwind and relax. Overall, I would say that the Eyre Square Hotel is a decent option for a short stay in Galway that provides a comfortable and convenient base for exploring the city and surrounding areas."
