"Don’t even look elsewhere, book Friars Glen. Am fortunate to have visited Ireland many times and Friars Glen is by far my favorite B&B to date. Upon arrival, I was greeted with tea, delicious fruit bread, and a warm fire. Mary was beyond welcoming and helpful with my excursion planning. The location is superb, just outside of town in a beautiful, quiet natural setting adjacent to Killarney National Park. My room was clean and spacious with fantastic water pressure in the shower (not always the case in Irish B&B’s) The first morning I needed to leave before 7am so Mary insisted on preparing a breakfast on the go. Wonderful cheese/ham croissants, muffins, juice and water. The regular breakfast selection was amazing and I ate very well each morning! I was traveling alone and had a minor medical emergency in the middle of the night and needed assistance. Mary and John responded at 3am without batting an eye. My only suggestion is to not stay here at the beginning of your trip, because nothing else will compare! Thank you, Mary and John, I look forward to a return visit!"

"This is a wonderful place located right on the National Park line minutes from Killarney center. The Lodge is spacious with the nicest and most helpful hosts. Beautiful grounds where we saw red stag deer wander through the yard."

"Our 5 night stay at Friars Glen was a highlight of our three weeks in Ireland! Mary and John are incredible hosts that go above and beyond their already incredible hosting skills. One evening we were about to share a snack and wine at the fire and John got us plates and napkins for our cheese and crackers. "My fiancé and I spent a week traveling Ireland and two nights at Friars Glen in April 2022. The hosts/owners were very accommodating and welcoming. Breakfast was fantastic each morning and the rooms were clean and tidy. The en-suite bathrooms were lovely and the showers had fantastic water pressure. Will definitely stay again if we’re ever back in Killarney."
