"I rang up DID today 23/1/23 to enquire if a laptop I'm interested in buying was in stock (as in their warehouse), the item stated it is a special item order. A woman answered the phone and the amount of background noise from a TV was overbearingly loud, I asked was that the Mountjoy Square shop and she replied it was the headquarters, I asked about the Laptop through the noise as it was getting louder, she said it can only be ordered in once it's paid for and then I would have to wait 2 weeks for it to arrive, I said I would be going into the shop where I would be paying cash, so could she ring me when it was in, she said it only can be ordered if paid for first. I asked did she expect me to give almost 1,000 euro in cash and then have to wait 2 weeks for the item? She said well that's how special orders are , with that the noise got so bad I asked her to please lower the TV, she said she was at home with her four year old, I said that's not my problem, I'm trying to converse with you will you please lower the TV, she told her four year old to turn off the tablet - a member of my family was on the other side of the room and asked what is that noise? That's how loud it was, I said it's ridiculous! The woman took offence saying she's working from home minding her child and hung up. I love children but if the headquarters of a firm is a family home please have consideration for customers who are ringing that number, it's no way to conduct a business in sales."
"Daniel and the lads went out of their way to help me yesterday when getting a new phone. Would definitely deal with them again and the price was Very keen"
"I was treated like a fool. Went in with a €100 gift card to buy a pair of headphones and the indian guy hiding behind the window didn’t know how to scan the qr code in order to activate the voucher. He tried to convince me to bring my phone close to the card machine to pay €100 instead of subtracting that amount of the total price. Ended up having to order the product online in order to activate the damn gift card and had to go to the store twice to collect it just because he was not able to redeem a voucher from his own company’s website. Very disappointed."
"DID Electrical suppliers have wide range of electronic devices from several producers available for purchase. However, they may not always have what they advertise available when you actually get to the store. My experience with them is regarding a certain smartwatch that appeared on my FB wall, and when I followed the link, it took me to their website. there I saw the product listed and it said available only in stores. The next day I visited a store in Dublin. The shop assistant checked it up in database for availability and said it is not available in any of their shops. He wasn't able to provide any more information on that. I liked the retro design of that watch so much, that I was following it up. Even after two weeks, the same watch appears as available to buy in stores on their website. I found it quite misleading. Are they using it to attract customers to their stores and make them buy something else instead? Because they do direct you immediately to the available options instead of waiting for the one you are after. I have no complains about them - the stuff I bought from them has been really good. Yet, this kind of misleading information is unnecessary trouble for consumers. Hope they take measures to keep their website and online advertisements up to date."
