"We have been seeing this restaurant on Facebook quite a lot, and loved seeing the sea views from it. All the photos of the restaurant and the food looked amazing. So this evening my wife and myself brought our daughter and her husband for dinner. The menu was amazing and very traditionally Chinese. They don’t have curry on the menu at all, but the dishes they do have are excellent. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. A very tasty meal and we will visit again soon."
"Hidden gem in in Blackrock. We visited RongChen restaurant for the first time to celebrate my Dad's 73rd birthday. I had requested to be sat at a nice table along with a candle put on my dad's dessert. The staff could not have been more accomodating and welcoming. Everything from the luxurious decor and stunning sea view to the scrumptious food and classy cutlery was spectacular. Staff went above and beyond to look after us. They brought the cake out and sang happy birthday which was a nice touch. I had the early bird menu and had the salt and chilly king prawn to start, followed by stir fried king prawn with yuziang sauce. The dessert was a lemon cheesecake with ice cream and fresh berries. The Chinese food here is unrivaled in terms of its authentic taste. It is far superior than take away Chinese food. The fried rice was delicious aswell. The food here is light and not too heavy or oily which is always a good sign. My dad said it was his best birthday meal in years because of the food and ambience. We will be back."
"We had our dinner at the rongcheng in a weekend afternoon . We were on the table next to the seaside and the view is really amazing. we enjoyed the sunset glow vibration during the meal! The food was absolutely excellent you can taste the fresh ingredient as well as traditional Chinese cooking skills. Drink and service were super as well. Recommend to ask for some traditional Chinese leaf tea, you can't buy it easily. We ordered okra and Bang Bang chicken for starters they were all delicious and healthy. We had beef, prawn, Peking roast duck and vegetables for mains they are definitely all worth to try. We will definitely go back with friends, Highly recommended place!"
"Went there with my husband last week, was blown away. The décor is phenomenal once you get inside. A classily arranged room facing sea view that encompasses the entirety of the sea facing wall. Large spacious dining room with a lovely balcony (vaping friendly) with a view of the bay. Weather was mixed when we were there and if anything the view looked better the angrier the sea got. Service was marvellous, quick and the servers were dressed to the 9s. The food was much better than the standard fare in Dublin. Chinese food in Ireland is normally quite greasy but Rongchengs dishes are extremely light. The coating around the aubergine in the Yuxian Aubergine was phenomenal, a perfect balance between light and crispy, better than I’ve had in China. The other dishes all maintained a similarly high standard of quality and authenticity that should serve as an inspiration to some of their more inconsistent competitors. The food is slightly more expensive than you can find in more budget Chinese restaurants in town, but the food and experience more than justify the small difference. Highly recommend .10/10"
