"An hour late. No response on phone. Cold wings and bits of chips. Pic is of kid’s chicken. Their own driver just waved me off when I mentioned it was delayed. Shocking experience. Won’t order again. Deliveroo just as useless as had ordered through them."

"Firstly, I want to start by saying that I am big fan of elephant and castle (E&C). Food is great, particularly the chicken wings and anytime we order E&C it is considered a real treat. Unfortunately, on 210ct22 I had an awful experience with E&C in Monkstown. ( Order was chicken wings and two fries). 1. I pre-ordered my meal at approx 15:00 with Just Eat to avoid any complications and selected 19:00 for delivery time. 2. At 19:00, I checked my Just Eat app and it said that the driver was at the restaurant. As time passed by the status on my order did not update, there was no sign of my order being delivered. 3. I rang E&C at 20:00 to try and get an update on my order. To my shock, manager Emma said there was no driver available and that my order was not even prepared. I was very disappointed with this.... 4. Discussed it with Emma on what I could do. I found this really stressful , so I felt the only option I had was to get the order myself. 5. Drove to Monkstown and arrived at 20:15 and got my order at 20:30. When leaving, one of the waiters expressed his sympathy with the issue and mentioned that the Chef had added extra fries to my order as a good will gesture. I could see there were two large boxes of fries in my order. 6. Arrived back home and began to eat our food. To my absolute outrage, both boxes of fries were less than half full. Myself and wife were really angered by this. Also, noted the portion of wings was smaller than previous orders. 7. I called again that night to express my disappoint, she explained why the boxes were half empty. I wasnt buying it though, when someone tells you they have given you extra fries and both boxes are only half full, its just not good practice. At the end of the conversation she apologised. Overall, myself and my wife were really disappointed with what happened. As I said E&C is a real treat, however, it seems standards are slipping. Look forward to your response. Regards Greg"

"Very disappointing. Wings and a fries delivered from Monkstown restaurant cost 28.89! Took 1 hour 15 to arrive, they were cold and look how small the portion of wings was ( i counted 13 wings between 2 people) and they expect you to pay 18.95 for a portion! Tried calling to allow them to put it right but phone ringing out. Starving!"

"The food is great, but it is consistently too slow, whether you order take out or in restaurant. This has happened too many times at this point to be 1 bad experience. Don't go here if there is any kind of time sensitivity."

"Service was very friendly and attentive as they could be, but they were very short staffed. Wings were poor - very dry, overcooked and were over powered with salt. Chips were bland and the loaded fries were a bit lacking in the extra toppings. I've been twice, both times it's disappointed."
