"I like McHughs but have to admit our visit for Sunday lunch was disappointing this time. We were told when the booking was made that we would only have the table for an hour and 45 which would normally be fine. It took a long time for our order to be taken and an even longer time for delivery of both our starters and main. Wings are always good which I had for starter. Fish and chips for main was pretty average. So when it came to dessert we told there wasn't enough time for us to have dessert. Naturally we werent too happy when the service was so bad. We were going to push it but then decided we didn't want it anyway. I didn't want to stay any longer after that. Some of the group were disappointed to not get their dessert and the interaction with the staff on it was awkward. No real admittance that it was their fault. It was disappointing and I won't be going back in the near future."
"Had the family here for Sunday lunch. Food was delicious and filling, something for everyone. Would like a little more choice in the dessert menu. Staff were lovely."
"The lamb main course was absolutely delicious. 2 of my fellow diners had the duck and they both found it too salty, we informed the waitress who was very nice and obliging and didn't charge us for 2 deserts. The desert menu was minimal but the choc pud was again, delicious. The portions are possibly a little on the small side and the front of house could be a little more friendly. Overall an enjoyable meal"
"Nice restaurant with excellent food. Steaks were tasty, and desserts were simple but full of flavour."
"I recommend this restaurant for great value and family friendly dining. Of three courses I think the starter of spicy chicken wings and the chicken dinner were the strongest. They were able to offer gluten free options (but no gluten free bread). The restaurant is really lovely inside and the wine was really good. I did free like the staff taking payment lacked the normal courtesy of thanking a customer who was playing for 4 tables of dinners. Overall I will go back again."
