"The hotel is well located in the centre of Birmingham with some lovely views of the canal. The service at the desk when we attempted to check in was lacking and the room was in desperate need of some TLC. There was a spin bike included for no obvious reason and the heater wasn't working correctly ( not ideal in November.) We had breakfast included in our stay and I can't fault the food, it was very tasty. I spoke to someone regarding our stay and we did receive a partial refund but I wouldn't stay here again until they've updated their rooms and given extra training to their staff."
"One lift for guests and one lift for restaurant is a bit of a faff. Had to queue to get a lift to my room on Friday/Saturday night. air con wasn't working and was preset at 28 degrees, lucky i figured it out, but it kept reverting back to 28 degrees every half hour. Nice enough room with nice views. Left a top there and they refused to post it back. Going the extra mile certainly doesn't seem to be the motto here, at £200 a room, my motto would be go once and don't go back"
"One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in with numerous problems right from check in. Firstly, the room was beyond dirty when we checked in. Marks on the bed, hairs in the shower, dust and grime on ever surfaces but this was nothing compared to the carpet where every inch of it was covered in hair and dirt. The AC couldn't be blamed for moving the dirt, dust, or hair around as it was broken making the room extremely warm. As anyone would in a room that was so dirty I went to complaint, firstly trying to use the broken room phone. To cut my long story short, it took the hotel 4 attempts to clean my room, and numerous people visiting to check the state of the room before I offered to clean it myself. Why did I not leave I hear you ask? It was Birmingham Pride so this part of the city was full. Side notes, we had to get additional hangers for the room as we only had 1. The carpets once vacuumed were extremely stained. We had a balcony room and the balcony was littered with cigarette ends. Curtains were heavily marked. The TV very unresponsive and quiet. We did not have a do not disturb sign. The lift system to the room is infuriating!! I believe in being balanced and fair therefore I will say the hotel location is good. The lobby smells great (but is dirty). The front desk staff very apologetic. Do these positives out weight the negatives. Certainly not. Despite the heavily discounted rate I would never consider revisiting this hotel and suggest you avoid at all costs."
"Very spacious rooms, bizarrely mine came with weights and a spin bike! Booked the Hotel as the Indigo so a little disappointed not to have the same in room benefits now it's changed. Great location, fantastic breakfast."
"Very centric and convenient. Everything you need is right next to the hotel. And the front desk are very equipped to give you any information about the city. Kayla and Ian (front desk) gave me great recommendations for food/activities and made my overall stay 10X better."
