"The Ramada probably doesn't even realise that it's brand has been stung as a result of quarantine! Within any hotel service and quality remain the core values, neither of which apart from housekeeping was delivered effectively All room telephones have been defaulted to security which frequently struggles to manage security and customer staying at the hotel. Request traditional tea and coffee are regularly lost between the security and back office staff. Food was frequently delivered late, of poor quality and did not reflect the price tag paid for quarantine services. Many of the occupants opted for external deliveries. The standard of the room was basic, one would expect improvements to have been made during the first lockdowns. Instead the bathroom had a poorly fitted shower door and cracked sink. Security was a basic level. Although female security were visible at the start they disappeared. Even though there was a pledge to improve and provide them for female guests. Radios were frequently turned to a high volume with regular requests to turn them down. Generally security were well turned out and polite. The service booking company was poor. Trying to clarify why an additional day had been added onto the bill was met by that's for the hotel use? Communication was poor as the operator struggled with the home environment dog barking in the background and children screaming, In summary and here's the sting! One of the worst hotel experiences I have encountered as a global traveller! This is ingrained in my head and I will not be using the services of Ramada now or in the future!"
"I was torn between 2 & 3 stars for this hotel. Had it not been for the fact that the grounds are beautiful, and the location of the hotel itself, then 2 stars would have been the score. The hotel is I assume, an old stately home of dome type, certainly some of the outer features would suggest that. The grounds are spacious, lush & relatively well maintained, as is the steam that runs alongside the property. Though litter & overflowing bins did blight the grounds somewhat. There is a fitness suite adjacent to the hotel, complete with a hair studio & swimming pool with a upstairs viewing area & bar. However, they are the good points. The room was large & the bathroom too, was a good size. So far so good. But the shower heads all need a good descaling or replacing, as this was affecting water flow - especially for the jets behind you for a "Japanese Shower". On the final evening, the water pressure dropped completely & I was left having to cup my hands to catch the drips from the shower, just so I could finish rinsing soap off. The toilet was also affected, so couldn't use that from 8.30pm till checkout the next morning. Finally, the beds & pillows. In short, they were dreadful. Springs could be felt when you lay down & pillows that gave no support to your head at all, just straight through to the mattress. For a big chain (that's part of the Hilton Group), I'd expect far far better than what I received. Not sure I would return sadly."
"I've stayed in this hotel a couple of times and it's not great. This is a shame as the grounds are lovely and it's clear the gym has had some money spent on it. The first time I stayed there was no heating in my room, so was given an electric heater. No offer of a room change. Then the fire alarm went off in the early hours. Not a great start. My room was at the top of the stairs which would've been ok if it wasn't for the floor being so creaky and noisy, and it was clear the fan in the shower had never been cleaned - it was black from dirt and grime. I've had colleagues who had duck tape on the floor in their rooms as there was damage to the flooring. This hotel needs a major refurbishment. If it was half decent I'd stay as the gym is excellent, however I'm afraid it simply isn't. If the hotel"
"We stayed here for 1 night on 17/8/19. What we liked: - The grounds are impressive. - Breakfast was excellent - good selection of cold and cooked items. What we didn’t like: - Hotel generally needs updating. Having said that, they were doing some improvement works to the corridor carpets, so hopefully they continue to update the whole hotel. - Water pressure for the shower wasn’t great. Felt like a trickle! We went with friends and they had also noted the same in their rooms. - Toilet seat was broken. Seems like they need to keep on top of general maintenance. I’m sure housekeeping would have noticed this when cleaning. I can’t comment on the leisure facilities as we didn’t use them."
"I came here with my son as a last minute emergency. I chose this hotel as for the price it came with best facilities such as the swimming pool. I had previously stayed at a hotel the day before and I can honestly say this hotels swimming pool and facilities were 100 x cleaner and better. I ran into a few problems with the room at first as I did not like the one I was put in. When I went to the reception a guy called Mohammed was there. I can honestly say he saved my day. I stay in a lot of hotels for work and I can honestly say he has been the best service I come across. I also witnessed him with a guest in front who was having a moan but seemed intoxicated and he managed to calm her down and she seemed happy in the end. Any problems I had he was happy to fix efficiently he was very very understanding and co operative. Reading the reviews I agree that some of the rooms are dated but I seen a few and they all seemed clean from what I seen. My advice will be upgrade if you can as the rooms are very nice for a little extra money. The grounds are beautiful and staff are very good. I would stay here again due to the service of the staff I would just upgrade my room to the exec or suite"
