"Lovely hotel. No frills, but lots of heart and soul. Staff are next-level warm, caring, accommodating. I had such a personalized experience and felt sincerely cared about. Rooms were plenty tidy and the furniture was in better shape than your average chain business hotel. I would happily come back!"
"We stayed at the Westport Woods Hotel for the Westport Marathon and the staff ensured our stay was incredibly pleasant and were incredibly supportive with any questions/queries we had during our stay. Will definitely be back next year if we're attending the event again!"
"I can honestly say, I was disappointed with the hotel and its amenities. The people working there are perfectly pleasant but it lacks the finese you expect from the normal 4* hotels and certainly from what was shown on the website. It was dark, dated and shabby. There was duct tape on the carpet, cobwebs on the ceilings. Not all lights worked in the rooms. The shower head was angled towards the wall and was rigid with lime scale. The towels stank of vinegar leaving a chip shop residue on your skin. And yes, there was hair on them. The bed linen was inexpertly pressed, with creases ironed into them like the leather effect of sun dried hide. When my friend asked for a cappuccino at breakfast she was told no, they were too busy. We tried the bar for dinner and we’re shoved in a drank corner with a sticky table and it was reminiscent of a ‘80’s aul’fellas pub. The spa was dark, dingy and messy. And we didn’t even bother with the pool. We raised our concerns with the hotel staff and we’re given fresh linen, towels, bottles of water and a box of chocolates. A bathrobe and slippers were also left in the rooms. On checkout we were given a refund each as well, and the team certainly tried their utmost to work on the feedback, I will give them that. Personally I would not return. There are others who were making bookings for the following year as we left. But it really doesn’t deserve the 4* rating any longer, and that should be reviewed."
"Great hotel but just a few issues pillows need replacing the extra pillow in wardrobe was hard and flat as a pancake once we asked to have pillows replaced it was fine .. bar food fine . Breakfast the first morning was great but the hotel was quite . The next morning was a different story no brown bread only sliced. Coffee cold .my cooked breakfast was somewhere between cold and tepid . Maybe need to check dishwasher needs cleaning..... the staff were friendly...."
