Woodside Lodge Bed and Breakfast

"My mom and I had such a magical experience at Woodside Lodge with Patrice and Helen (and their yellow lab, Belle)! They were the most gracious hosts... and the house is beyond gorgeous as well! They welcomed us with open arms and made our stay even more enjoyable than we ever could have wished for... Patrice makes delicious smoked salmon and eggs and Helen's homemade scones are to die for! The room was very comfy and cozy and we felt right at home. I hope we get to travel back to Ireland again and you better believe Woodside Lodge will be on our list of places that we would definitely stay at again and again and again. Thank you so much Patrice and Helen for everything. We hope to see you again one day!"

"Room and bed were comfortable, but absence of a bedside shelf on one side was inconvenient (not a major issue!) The water pressure in the shower was very low - not a major problem for a 2 night stay (did discuss this with the owners - the issue lies with the age of the plumbing). The vegan offering for breakfast was the best we've experienced in all the B&B we've stayed in. The full Irish (for meat eater) was great too, along with the basket of home made scones. Would definitely recommend a stay. Easy walk in to town. Patrice (owner) was quick to alert us to book for an evening meal as most places are filled to capacity most nights! - we were lucky both nights and got a table in 2 different restaurants."

"20 years ago I was in Ireland with my family. And I had such a nice memory that I wanted to show it to my partner. I loved the B&B concept that you stayed with Irish people and they served you a delicious breakfast and made you feel at home. This time we have been to different B&Bs and in many of them the landlords did not live in the houses and did not serve you breakfast either. We were both a little disappointed. But we arrived in Westport and felt that warmth again, the landlords of this B&B are charming, they are there for everything. They have a very nice house, the rooms have everything and they fix your room every day. And the best thing is the breakfasts, they make you what you want at the moment, exclusively for you. They also have raisin pastries that are spread with jam that are delicious. It's a pity we are leaving tomorrow but I will definitely recommend this B&B. If you are thinking of staying here you will love it. :)"
