"Not worth it. We (a family of 4 adults) spent one night there for 240€ including breakfast. The house is close enough by car to Westport but you cannot walk anywhere from there as the only access is the main road. The house is large with many rooms. Our room was one of four with 2 double beds and a single bed but 1) the shower is tiny, 2) the shower is from another time (as most of the furniture in the house) and had no pressure, 3) the TV had a screen smaller than my laptop, 4) there was no shampoo, shower gel, water, or kettle provided. The only common area accessible was the sitting room with an old sofa for two, an old arm chair, and an old TV with a bad signal. Breakfast is served between 7am and 9am (small period and early). For breakfast there is several nice options on the menu: Irish breakfast, smoked salmon with 1 egg, pancakes with lemon curd, etc. The portions are very small and the pancakes were too thick, dense and small to be proper pancakes. Overall, too pricey for what you get."
"Everything was amazing, the location, the house, the beds, all the choices for the homemade breakfast (and the view on Croagh Patrick) and of course the kindness of the hostess Angela! Book this charming place, you won't regret it!"
"Had the pleasure of staying last night at Carrabaun House. It is so much better than the pictures. Angela is so welcoming, and helpful. Our room was amazing overlooking Croagh Patrick. Electric blankets in our beds was a most welcome surprise. Breakfast freshly cooked and piping hot. I recommend you try the French Toast. Cannot recommend Carrabaun enough. It's definitely worth a trip."
"Angela was a wonderful hostess, warm and welcoming. The accommodation was excellent. Very comfortable beds, clean room and the view from the bedroom window was spectacular. Mam and I enjoyed our stay very much and would definitely return. Continued success Angela and Francis."
"We stayed at this lovely guesthouse last Friday, we were greeted very warmly and welcoming by Angela the hostess. The house and gardens are absolutely beautiful. Our room was spotless and all the new regulations were in place, so we really felt very comfortable. We had an amazing breakfast especially the Irish Bailys Cream Porridge ( which I'm still talking about!) and the perfect pancakes with lemon curd were to die for. Angela was very friendly and chatty and the whole experience was very relaxing and very pleasant. Would definitely recommend this guesthouse and we must return again . Kind regards, Bernadette & Noel Galway."
