"My recent stay at this hotel was great. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the staff went above and beyond what they were paid for. They were friendly, helpful and welcoming. Considering the hotel was budget, it was definitely worth it. The food was great, the bar was open 24/7 and the beds were really durable. I would definitely return. This wasn't the first time I had stayed there. It was very convenient for getting around the high street and visiting museums and events. Unfortunately, the standard had dropped and I was disappointed with the rooms and some of the staff. There was plenty of parking available at the hotel, so it was easy to walk to wherever you wanted to go for a few drinks without worrying about taxi fares. Although this put a bit of a dampener on the stay, we still had a great time in Rochester visiting, eating and drinking."
"Room was tidy and relatively clean, dusty toilet roll holder (like REALLY dusty) and empty lager cans under one of the beds but staff more than made up for it; check in, night staff and morning crew were friendly and helpful. Hot breakfast was disappointing but cannot criticise the variety of cold options, shame the juice machine was broken and the coffee machine could do with a good clean but overall good value for money and would use again"
"My grandson and I stayed here for 2 nights as part of a London trip. Its wayyy cheaper than staying in London, and a short train ride to Victoria Station, the cost of which is still cheaper than staying in London. The room was spacious and the bed very comfortable. The shower gel dispenser was broken which I mentioned to the receptionist, but it hadn't been fixed by the time we left. I had the breakfast which wasn't great, the food mostly dried out under the heating by the time we went down. The location is brilliant and right next to the station. The windows open a bit, which is a relief from air-conditioning. The staff were lovely and helpful. The extra cost for an early check-in is worth the extra time in the room, and very useful for making the most of your stay. There is a small supermarket a few meters across from the hotel which is very useful. In all a lovely stay, and we'll likely stay again sometime this year."
"Overall, my stay at the travel lodge was lovely. The staff was super helpful and friendly. But there was only one lady who took on the role of receptionist, bartender, cleaner and waitress. There was also only one chef and our food varied from being very good to being almost in edible. Got 2 orders of sausages and mash, one came with burnt sausages amd the other with tough and hard sausage that almost broke the stainless steel knife that was being used to cut them. Both meals were meant to come with peas and gravy and instead one came with gravy but no peas and the other completely without either. Mash on both was like eating potato flavoured wallpaper paste. We waited over 45 minutes for our first starters which we only got half of because we ordered two portions of our chosen starters. We waited another 35 to 50 minutes for the rest. Very disappointed. However the cauliflower curry was great according to one of our friends and the bacon and cheese fries were good. The rooms were immaculate and the hotel was very quite. The only fault was the lack of a blow drier and the odd 2-in-1 shampoo and body wash. There was some concern for safety after our friend lost his key card and when he asked for a new one he was immediately given a new one without any proof of identity or booking reference. I would stay here again bit would go yo the local high street near the nightclub and castle to eat."
"Newish hotel - very clean through communal areas. We arrived at 2:45 with 2 small children and a dog, asked if we could check in a little earlier (15mins) they said the room is ready but we have to wait 15 mins. I mean I get it but every other Travelodge we have been to let you in early if the room is ready. Receptionist was quite frosty too. But the room itself was nice and spacious even with the 2 extra beds. Only downside is the stained/dirty carpets, my childrens socks were black within minutes of being in the room - a good carpet clean might be an idea. The location was great, just a few minutes walk to the town, cathedral and castle. We found a nice play park near by too. The Costa coffee and Co-op opposite are very handy. Shame about the homeless man living outside, my son bought him a meal. Hotel was nice and quiet on a night. Breakfast the next day was good and great kids eat free."
