Avenue Motel Ballarat 1813 Sturt Street, Alfredton, Victoria 3350

"I wanted to give 5 stars but there were just a few things. The skirting boards in the room need cleaning, the walls could do with a magic sponge wipe to remove the marks and the tile grouts in the bathroom/kitchen area could do with a scrub with some grout cleaner. The bed was comfortable and clean. Clean cutlery and appliances. It had excellent WiFi, friendly staff, great inclusive breakfast area, decent parking could do with some new line markings. I ask for a quiet room and they put us up at the back of the property. Overall very happy and think it could easily become 5 stars with these small things."

"Made a reservation one day and rang to reschedule the next day because my medical appointment in Ballarat had been deferred. I assume it was the owner who started yelling at me that I chose a non refundable option and I couldn't reschedule. I was not offered, nor did I accept any option. I simply asked for a room. Most unpleasant. The rudest motelier I have ever encountered. Would not listen. Just yelled over me when I tried to say I was not offered an option. Don't stay there. You will regret it."

"The owner was very rude, at exactly 10 am he knocked on the door and when I opened it he asked "Are you getting out now!" There were four of us, two in each room, we are all in our sixties, decent people, and we were already putting our things into the cars. It was like he timed it to the second! We stayed 1 night, never again. Also the cat kept getting into the room, bad luck if you were allergic to cats."

"stay away! Booked weeks in advance and paid deposit plus extra for early check-in to arrive to him advising that the room had already been given to somebody else and that our money had been refunded.. could not see the refund in our account. he advised the only way to stay the night was to pay funds again even though we had not received them back. Disgusting attitude and service. After we said, we will find accommodation elsewhere, he replied “I don’t care” .. never experienced this sort of behaviour at a hotel and we travel regularly.."

"Disgusting treatment to someone who's been a loyal customer for years!!! Made a late night booking and was unable to physically get there or contact manager at the late time I realised I would be unable to make it, stuck 50km out of Ballarat and had so many dramas going on but I didn't stress thinking it would be fine to ring in the morning and explain and change to the next night for my booking, to be rudely told no change of dates and no refunds !!! Will never EVER come back here and will never recommend anyone to stay here again ."
