"Unfortunately our nice little Sunday outing as a family wasn’t as pleasant as we hoped. Although the food was pub standard nice, although the chips were soft and not crunchy and the meals didn’t come out hot. We were quite let down by the service we had asked for a highchair for our 11 month old baby. And we’re told originally yes. To then being told no. I asked the person in charge if by any chance any come available (as I noticed some were at tables not being used) please to let us know so we can use one. He said he would as he started to walk away and it seemed not to care about making our baby comfortable. I then noticed he no longer gave us eye contact or was friendly and we had to have our meals with our baby on our laps as No highchair in the end. Before sitting us down it would have been nice to know that suppling a high chair isn’t important on their agenda so we would have found somewhere else to go for our lunch. Unfortunately not accomodating our baby and ourselves we had to rush eat and didn’t get the nice afternoon we were hoping for. We will not be coming back."

"Good beer and food, service is ok. The main issue I have is this business does not accept cash for payment, cash is an important part of society and to see this in a country town is just sad. I will not support businesses that are cashless."

"Having been disappointed by a popular pub recently, we decided to come to Woodend and try lunch at Holgate Brewhouse. WOW beautiful ambience and the food and customer service was excellent we will definitely be back. Thanks guys keep up the great work."

"This could have been a really excellent visit - it has all the makings to be a great place!! The food was good, the service staff were polite and attentive. It’s a great building with comfortable dining spaces. Unfortunately the kitchen rushed our mains out before we had finished our entrees. The rush meant not only did we not finish our entree, but they also missed out on another round of drinks being ordered as well. It was exactly 9 minutes between our entrees arriving to our mains arriving. My ‘roast’ potatoes could have done with that extra time also. So all in all, not a bad place but the meal timing could do with a bit of improvement."

"I've eaten here a few times with family who live in Woodend. The menu has a range of meals to choose from, with several gluten-free options. This time I had the falafel - served with gluten-free bread instead of a wrap. Really tasty falafel. I would happily eat here again. Parking is a challenge - be prepared to walk."
