Water Street Reserve Water Street, Birchgrove, New South Wales 2041
About the Business
Welcome to Water Street Reserve, a stunning establishment located in Birchgrove, Australia. This multi-tiered park offers a unique experience with its disabled access, including a lift that leads to Hopetoun Quay and a boardwalk along the seawall.
One of the highlights of Water Street Reserve is the Balmain Sailing Club, which has a rich history dating back to October 1885. After a period of little activity, the club was re-established in 1995 by a community-based group who took over the lease for the premises previously known as The Balmain 12ft Skiff Club. Renamed as the Balmain Sailing Club, it has become a popular destination for sailing enthusiasts and visitors alike.
At Water Street Reserve, we pride ourselves on being part of the vibrant and diverse Inner West community. We celebrate the unique cultures, ideologies, and experiences that make our community thrive. We acknowledge that this land traditionally belonged to the Gadigal and Wangal peoples of the Eora nation and pay our respects to their elders, past and present.
We are open Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) from 8:30am to 5pm, and we welcome you to explore the beauty and tranquility of Water Street Reserve. Whether you're looking to enjoy a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk, admire the breathtaking views, or simply relax in nature, our park offers a serene oasis in the heart of Birchgrove.

"Pretty nice broadwalk by the water with lots of benches. It’s also usually quiet so can enjoy the place without anyone disturbing you and my dogs love it!"
"Small and quiet wharf and wooden Broadwalk to explore for anyone curious It's for the apartments and boats, but is accessible to the public. On both sides there is a publicly accessible laneway, one is not marked on Google maps but you can walk down there as per the photo I've added. On the side near the boat club there is some sort of old pump, I suspect from the old Coal mine. I've added a photo of this also."
"Quiet relaxing tree covered harbourside park at Birchgrove. Easily accessed by the stairs or the lift it's a nice shady spot to sit and read a book or just watch the boats drift by on the harbour. You will find this little park right next to Balmain Sailing Club and Hopeton Quay Marina."
"Great place for an afternoon"
