"Absolutely the best place to be in a hot day. Plenty of space for the kids to play and the water in 2 of the pools is never more than 0.9m. the lap pool was lanes so you could swim undisturbed if you wanted to or use the open bit to jump in and splash about. Lots of ducks and duck poo everywhere so slides, goggle's and closed mouths are a must."
"Another stunning set of Blue Mountains pools nestled into beautiful enveloping parklands. Again, this started as a dam to keep the steam trains chugging along but unlike its Lawson counterpart, the main pool here is a lined version of that original dam. This explains it’s unusual shape, size and variable depth, which never really goes beyond 1.2 metres... the perfect pool for non swimmers or just mucking around in. There’s a much more modern half-Olympic pool of standard depths just nearby, half devoted to lap lanes, plus a large shallow and shaded kiddies pool between the two. The grounds around Blackheath Pool are sprawling, complete with sun lounges and some gorgeous 1930s change rooms and showers and adult entry at the Blue Mountains Council standard of $6.80. Parking is a bit of a walk away and there’s not a huge amount of it, but it is free."
"Great facility for a swim when in the mountains. Good value and great way to spend a day where the cloud blocks views from the lookouts. I didn't like that the local ducks poo everywhere, you have to watch your step in this outdoor venue."
"Good safe pool. Never busy. Use the secret car park and entrance at the back - near duck park - as the gate is usually open. Makes it easier to get in."
