"Wonderful atmosphere, attention to detail. Food excellent. I recommend the Tajine. Something wonderful is happening here in a beautiful village. Don’t expect huge choice in wine or pretentious surroundings. Good value, lots of personality."
"Moran's Bar is a real gem and the food is excellent. It's clear that Hugh and the team put a lot of thought and attention into each dish and execute them beautifully. Whether it's the regular weekend menu, takeaway or the monthly tapas night there's something for everyone. The cosy atmosphere, nice drinks and lovely staff all add to a brilliant experience."
"What a gem!! We had the pleasure of having a family meal in Moran's last weekend. Fantastic food served by the super friendly proprietor Hugh Moran. Located in the historic Moran's Bar just a short trip from Sligo- authentic food, creamy Guinness and a faboulous atmosphere. Its in the diary for a return visit."
"What a brilliant experience. A local entrepreneur providing a great wholesome menu choice in the rural Irish setting of County Sligo. Be minded that it's in a traditional and lovely Irish bar setting and currently serves food at weekends so check availability. Plenty of locals amongst the holidaymakers so that's a very good recommendation. The specials are exquisite so ask the friendly servers about the daily choice. It is a bar too and open pub hours for plenty of Irish including local products. The Guinness is top notch and should definitely be experienced here. Highly recommend!"
"We were traveling from Galway to Donegal jumping on and off the Wild Atlantic way and heard of a small pub just outside Sligo town that had great pizza, we are Irish and have just come home after living in New York City and Brooklyn for the last 18 years, I know good pizza I have tried everything from Lombardis to table 87 over there. We looked up google maps and figured out that it was nearly exactly half way from where we were traveling to. When we arrived we were greeted by Hugh himself dressed half bartender half chef, really great personality. We sat outside and had two pizzas prepared by his Egyptian pizza chef, we could also see a lot of click and collect pizzas flying out and it was only 4.30 on a Saturday. I have to say they were the best pizza’s we have had outside of New York, I don’t write reviews but felt compelled to for this, it’s hard to find really good pizza, well worth the trip. His mother was was there as well a natural host and the locals including the cat, dog, two horses with two new foals and a Shetland pony for Hugh’s young son were just fantastic, a really really great local place to go, make the effort to check it out, thank you all"
