"Wanted an oat latte. Did not expect a rant from server about how I should order anything but oat milk because it's really bad for you. I am a clinical researcher so I know how to Google scientific sites to get science based info. This guy apparently gets his info on TikTok. There is NO scientific basis for claims that oat milk is not healthy. Even if it were, a barista should not tell customers what they should or should not order."
"Asked for a cheese and ham panini, a cheese and tomato panini, two sides of potato wedges and a white coffee. I was given the panini's but no wedges, so I can back to store and they made me a pot but told me I only get one- despite ordering two? I insisted that I normally get two pots when ordering two sandwiches and she resentfully went after making what I thought I'd paid for (had I not, she merely needed point that out and I'd happily pay). Took much longer than the first pot, finally got going and when I got home I noticed one panini was burned and the other was not a panini at all but a wrap...? Very disappointed and made to feel stupid by the blonde English female member of staff."
"I get the real sense that the staff aren't well managed here, and for me that's a failing of leadership. I've tried mocha beans here a few times and it's been poor to bad every time. I managed to drag a smile out of staff today, and while we got up from our table a staff member moved us aside to clear the table (there were lots of other clear table so no huge need) instead of waiting a moment while we left. I've found the coffee ok to poor at various visits. One of our group reported the brownies were really good. And it was way too hot in there today, I can appreciate somewhere being cosy but this was uncomfortable. I want to have more cafe options that I use in ballina but it's hard to keep giving this place a chance. I'd love to see staff members who were taken care of because I feel that would change things so much. I don't normally leave particularly negative reviews but I'm frustrated by a place that could be so much better."
"Lovely cafe, opens early so I can eat before work, makes coffees and smoothies like no other and their pancakes are always a winner in my book. Highly recommend to anyone."
