"Pub has closed and is to be 'developed' into tourist apartments. Like many small towns in the west of Ireland, Louisburgh is threatened with overdevelopment, the slapping down of tarmac in road schemes, and lack of control of second homes. Shops and pubs cater more and more to tourists/second homers, and less and less to those who live here. Pressure is building from vested interests for road widening to spread suburbanization from Westport along with a dedicate bicycle lane that will take bikes off the road and enable motorists to drive even faster."
"Good traditional food and drink. Nice ambiance."
