"Booked last minute for an essential work trip. Check in was effortless, and keys were ready for me when I arrived. The apartment had everything I'd expect and was beautifully presented. I wasn't familiar with the location before my stay, but the apartment is in a great location and the staff member working was extremely helpful with directions and local take-away food options. I'm already booked in for my next stay."
"Portumna isn't the easiest place to get to but there are some cool activities to do while here. The oak lodges are central to the town and everything is within a 5 minute walk. The accommodation itself was beautiful and well maintained. Kitchen with stove and oven, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle made this place a joy to stay in. (Note we stayed in an oak lodge rented out via airbnb, ymmv with other lodges) Getting There: From Dublin Heuston we took the Galway-bound train as far as Ballinasloe (return ticket ~€22), and took the local link bus (no. 547 if I recall) from Ballinasloe to Portumna. The driver was friendly and knew the area well, so he dropped us off at the accommodation and recommended some activities. NB: We asked for return tickets from the bus driver and were given day return tickets. If you're going to stay for a few days, ask for a one way (~€6)."
