"Hello readers. Firstly let me say i don't go away very often and because this time was my first time to go away with my son it was hoped we would get on well. My choice of hotel was spot on. The receptionist respected my hopes of getting a room in a quieter part of the building. Two big comfortable double beds in a spotless room. We enjoyed our stay and our breakfast was super. Can't wait to call again. Thank you so much."
"Service is fab. The staff are brilliant. Breakfast was fantastic. The rooms are generous in size, clean, well equipped. It's a stones throw from Durrow, a half hour from kilkenny. Great value. The only comment I'd have is that the bed in 102 is a bit hard on the hips and back. Walk in shower was fab."
"Nice, clean hotel, lovely night's break away. Hotel room is basic but comfortable with a TV and basic channels. The walls are paper thin however, you can hear every word from the rooms next door and further down the corridor so earplugs are advised if you need your sleep. Pleasant walk in the nature reserve nearby the next morning after a good quality breakfast with great service."
"Good hotel but could be better. Stayed here for one night having booked a b&b plus dinner package. The hotel is in need of a repainting. Reception area is very nice & the receptionists were all friendly & efficient. The heat in the hotel was a bit unbearable & could do with being turned down a bit. Our room was very big but a bit outdated. They could do with changing the dark furniture & replacing it with a brighter more modern look. There is an armchair in the room (118) that would look better in the corner near the window with a nice freestanding lamp beside it. You have to step into the bath to use the shower which did not have a great spray head. Bed was hard but that suited us Food is served in the bar area which was a very nice area. Food was o.k.. I had steak, medium done but it closer to well done. Too much food piled on the plate which did not look good. The mushrooms were very greasy. My wife had the Salmon but it was covered in the sauce which also covered the mash & anything else on the plate. It would be better if the sauce was served separately. The apple crumble had lost it's crumple probably because it seemed like it was reheated in the microwave. Staff here were very good though. The menu does not seem to have changed much on recent times from listening to some fellow diners. Maybe they could introduce a few different dishes or specials. All in all it is a nice hotel which would not take much to upgrade to a 4 star. Would we return? Yes."
"I was in a party of 5 and we came to the hotel this evening just for a meal. We were greeted with a lovely smile from a young woman with piercings behind the bar, and were seated straight away. The menu had a nice selection to choose from and everything was available. We got 2 mixed grills, a pan fried chicken fillet with bacon and mushroom sauce, and also the house burger. Food was served promptly and we weren't disappointed. Each meal tasted delicious and the portion sizes were fantastic, especially for a hungry chap like myself. Me and my guests will definitely be back. A special shout out to your staff, and a lady named Mags. We really got looked after"
