"Just had the most amazing peaceful stay at Tig Na Coille, fabulous large rooms, extremely clean, spacious and beautifully kept gardens, hosts John and Angela couldn't do enough for us Cannot wait to return, breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious, tea and coffee facilities in a beautiful guest kitchen with chocolate, really had the best night sleep in such a long time, if 10 stars could be given we would most definitely give them, a little piece of heaven. "Really bad experience. Got a flat tyre from a protruding piece of metal in the driveway of the accomadation. This was totally hidden from sight from the road. The owner couldn't seem to see the issue. He got super defensive then and shut his hall door on me as I changed the totally deflated tyre. Suffice it to say we left and on doing so we're down 200+ euro which the owner refused to refund and another 80 for a new tyre. It's a fine property I'm sure but they could do something to ensure that the metal gate post is either removed from the center of their drive or visible to those entering. Was a bit shocked they were so nasty given the reviewed seemed so good. They could do with improving their hospitality. Would not recommend. We did receive a refund for our stay but only after my wife posted an honest review of the experience publicly . Really unpleasant and uncalled for. See images attached."

"When we entered the property a large metal gate post shredded our tyre. The owner couldn't seem to get his head around why this was a problem! It isn't visible from the road there was no markings or warning it is there and when I pointed out it could at least be painted white or yellow so people could see it we were told he had never had an issue with it and he lived there for years. Neither he nor the women who came to the door could understand why we were annoyed. Obviously we left needing a new tyre and I asked he refund our near 300 hundred euro for our 2 nights stay and I was told flat out no we were not getting a refund. Coffee cup with image of steel spike attached for scale. Total disaster. Would not recommend. Will be following up with booking.com our tyre was destroyed. We did not stay and they refused to refund us. Crazy. We didn't even step inside. Absolute nightmare.... Update 16/03/2022. Thank you for your response. You did indeed refund us but only after I had commented here and on trip advisor. Perhaps had you even agreed to do so that day and acted in good faith instead of closing your door on my husband while he changed our tyre in your drive that would have been a little more appropriate. Like you said the rest of your reviews seem positive. It's a shame you can't manage a poor experience a little better and indeed not resort to commenting on prospective customers relationships with their "partners", what's that about? Says a lot."

"Oh we had such a lovely stay. The family was so kind and welcoming. We booked two rooms for only one night, but both rooms were comfortable and accomodating. The breakfast was wonderful and filling. The drive into town is short, maybe ten minutes. The location is great, very quiet and peaceful. We would definitely stay here again if ever we are in the area."

"Irish hospitality at its very best Perfect location, tranquil setting. John and Angela are the perfect hosts. We were welcomed with tea or coffee and cake. We felt at home. Our room was large with a sleigh bed which was extremely comfortable and we had a wonderful sleep the room was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious I chose the full Irish. There was plenty to choose from for breakfast. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Kilkenny. Thank you both for a wonderful stay in your beautiful home."
