None. advise anyone not to stay there."
"We stayed here in July of 2020, during the pandemic. We were really lucky and thankful to get away. I love that the allow animals, you would never tell considering how clean the house was. We loved the open fire on the rainy nights, stocked up on fuel in the local shop across the road, and the little friendly fox who quickly learned we would pass him some scraps so arrived each night at the door. The house has everything you need. The shop is well stocked, with a hot counter too.! We mainly used it as a base but were happy to spend the evenings in, making dinner and relaxing. Loved the lake, 10 minute drive away. Okay so not everything was open, the local pubs shut, some activities not open on the lake but that did in no way impact negatively on our stay. We accepted the tranquil quiet atmosphere and quality time with family. The hosts we met, Noel and Teresa were very nice, Teresa had great tips on things to do, we even hopped on a boat trip 2hrs after she suggested it. I would reccomend this lovely village setting to everyone. We loved it so much. If I had anything negative to say.it would be that the beds are not the best, a very hard nights sleep the first night but being out in the fresh air all day throughout the trip fixed that, plus the wine in the evening.! Take a trip and embrace what our country has to offer."
"Great place! Back from 5 night stay at the cottages. Teresa met us on arrival, very pleasent lady. We used the cottage as a base and travelled around. We used the bbq hut one evening which was fantastic. Cottage very cosy with an open fire. Noel checked in on us a few times to make sure everything was fine. Very nice man. Kids enjoyed the open area for hurling and going on scooters. I would highly recommend, a lovely stay."
"We were to call a number and the lady would meet us at the cottage. Tried the number could not reach the lady. I walked to the local store and the helpful ladies contacted the owner who then contacted the original lady. She then rang the store and spoke to me to say that the key was in the cottage door. Guess what no key back to the store for another call and she said she would be there shortly. Yes she arrived and then came back with bedding but she said she would be back to make the beds later. Well by 9pm I was fed up so I made the beds myself she arrived when I was making the last bed so I let her finish the bed making. The whole time we were there (2 nights) there was a folding bed in the lounge area. It was not needed as it was a 2 bedroom cottage and she had said that it would be removed but when I asked if she was taking the bed she said basically she did not have anywhere to put it so I said just leave it. This all happened the very first night. I also received a email about having your own towels so we had to buy them as we were coming from Australia to Ireland for a wedding and were also told we needed to leave €50 for electricity. I left €30 and I hope the mouse that was running around did not eat the notes. We paid $500 Australian for 2 night and it was a big let down. We went on to stay at Hotels and B & B's for the next 10 days and it was just wonderful."
"We had a wonderful 3 day stay at these beautiful cottages. I feel like I have been away for a week! They are very authentic inside and out. Overall the inside facilities are very good. We had a couple of issues, the fridge was not working properly and had a vile smell from it, the toilet handle was broken so unable to flush easily, and the dishwasher was broken so we had to wash everything by hand. Obviously this did not bother but pointless having it there. When we arrived everything in the dishwasher was still dirty. I think it is more an issue with whoever is employed to clean the houses, as they are not checking on everything before new patrons arrive. We spoke to Tim about these problems and he was very apologetic, so I'm sure they will be dealt with promptly. We found the beds really comfortable, and the peace and quiet at night allowed for an amazing restful sleep. Lots to see in the surrounding area. Lough Derg is stunning, and we went to Bunratty Folk Park which is not too far away. We will be returning for another visit in Sept and really looking forward to it. Thank you Tim."
