"Rooms were correct. Maybe a little old but they were clean and comfortable. It is what it is, a road hotel so it was exactly what I expected. The best part was the staff, very helpful and friendly."

"My fiance and I had amazing experience in The Lanterns Hotel and restaurant. In a lovely country side in the front of River. Price was very good. Staff are amazing, very welcoming and professional. Hotel is gorgeous in the very traditional Irish style. Clean and cozy. Hotel room was beautiful, comfortable big bed, good quality TV, all equipped with hairdryer, iron, tea/coffee/water. Wi-fi worked perfectly. We also went to Hotel restaurant. We had steaks. Steaks were for good price and 10oz. Very tasty and perfectly cooked. While we were waiting, manager served us a complimentary plate of tasty spring rolls. Which was very nice!!! We had really warm welcome from all staff members and interesting conversations. I would recommend this place to everyone. Definitely will be back."

"I first stayed at the Lanterns 17 years ago for my brothers wedding so wasn’t sure what to expect having heard that it had been closed for a number of years. The welcome was extremely warm from all staff. They could not do enough to ensure my stay was a pleasant experience , which it was and the refurbishment/plans for the future which are being undertaken at present by the new owners will improve standards further. The breakfasts I had were excellent and the amenities were good. The cost of the stay I thought was very reasonable and will be even better once further development occurs. I would recommend the Lanterns to anyone visiting the area. Good luck and hope all goes well for the future."

"5 stars isn't enough for how great our stay was and how well the owners treated us. My wife is from just up the road in Glin and we went back in February 2017 to get married within the church, but stayed here for much of the trip (except the night before, of course). Some of my family and wife's friends also stayed here. The owners bent over backwards making sure we all had the best time possible even though it was basically just the two of them. If they didn't have something they either got it or had some sort of substitution as well as going above and beyond for our room. Meals were all amazing, breakfasts and dinners both, and the one night I was at the bar when they had live music was lively and great craic. Lovely owners and great place all around."

"We stopped in here for food after several years of the hotel being shut and it was lovely. The new owners were beyond nice and helpful. The food was all made to order and the steak, lasagne and chicken burger are all heartily recommended. While we were eating we were offered the most beautiful spring rolls. We will definitely be back and would highly recommend to others."
