"Beautiful rural location, amazing hosts, amazing food, very pleasant atmosphere"

"This was not the experience I was hoping for the rooms were small, really small, and the bathroom no exception as a man who is 6’2” I couldn’t even reach down to wash my feet with out being pressed into the shower glass. no common areas, this would surly give you cabin fever if this was a long stay. The dirty water, out the the bathroom sink was not intended to be drinking water, I’m so glad I had brought bottled water for the car ride and had extra. The food was mediocre, and I had emailed earlier about food allergies, no accommodation had been made. We went out for diner and upon our return the closet door with all the extra bed sheets and towels had opened and lied across the hallway, this made me feel very uncomfortable. I tried to make my way around (I would have liked to have seen more organization and care taken to keep the place where my sheets and towels probably came from, to be private, clean, and well cared for) The owner wasn’t the most personal person and often seemed to dip out like he was a butler and not a host."

"The Staff was amazing and friendly and the location is nice and quite. Unfortunately I cannot rate the room high due to lack of heating, the coldness in the room made me ill and I notice black mold on the windows and shower. Our room had a musky smell and extremly cold. We had condensation on the inside of the windows."

"Great place to stay! We had a nice quiet room, and breakfast in the morning was fantastic! We ate a great meal in full view of the amazing castle ruins across the water. And it was very fun to drive across the bridge at night to come home!"

"We liked everything about staying at Castle View House. My wife asked "Is ten the absolute highest rating we could give?", I told her I would try to give higher than ten. Garrett and Patricia were the perfect hosts and fell all over themselves to make us happy. We walked around their island, spent time at the old fort on the point at the end of the island, took lots of pictures of the Carrigafoyle Castle which is almost in their front yard. We were booked well in advance for 5 nights and were given their best room which looked over the cow pasture (full of Garrett's cows) and the castle was just across the water so close you could almost spit on it. The location was remote and on an easily accessed island which was just over a short bridge from the mainland. Garrett worked very hard many years ago to have the government stabilized a restored to its current condition. Carrigafoyle castle is a famous castle which was destroyed in a famous battle and is a major historical site and important to the Irish people. We were tremendously blessed to have had the opportunity to spend a few days being pampered in paradise. Disliked · There is nothing that could make the stay at Castle View House better, Garrett and Patricia have been doing this for about 30 years and have achieved perfection. Staying at Castle View House may be the most memorable thing you have ever done in your life."
