"It was a great experience at usa visa embassy as I was there for B1 business type visa. It was a smooth and quick interview procedure. Make sure you have a perfect passport size photo as mentioned in the instructions orelse they will send you again for the photograph. My visa was approved at the day of the appointment."
"I visited US embassy for (B2)family Tourist visa in 3rd week of Dec, appointment at 8.00am in morning. We were just on time and had a word with security having the appointment on mentioned time. Initially we were asked to stay in the long queue but then he allowed us inside. Be prepared to stay in the queue at least for 1hr having no shed so carry rainy/winter wear. Before getting inside security checked for documents and photo required for visa. Ensure you have correct size pic 50X50cm as few were ask to take a pic again at the closest pharmacy. There is airport style security check with no liquids and electronics allowed. Avoid laptops and water bottles as no storage lockers for it. Mobiles and fit band are stored in very small lockers and the key of the locker is handed to us along with visitor card. Once the security is through we are directed to enter the embassy. The US embassy is very small and were ask to stand in the queue for document check. There were 3 counter operation for document check. If the appointment is for family they take it together and ask for the relation. Another question asked was when the photo was taken. Be clear and concise to answer this questions. Once the document verification in done we were ask to wait in interview queue. There is no place to sit and the complete process is standing. There was only one window for interviewing and you need to wait for your turn. Be to the point while answering the questions and purpose of visit. Also answer the questions inline with the details mentioned while filling the application form. Our visa was approved there itself and were asked to wait for 10 working day for receiving the passport. Overall the process was smooth and quick and it took around 1hr to complete it. I received the visa processed email on 3rd day after appointment and collected the passport from DPD Dublin 12 after 2 working days from the receipt of the email."
"I sent my application online by end of May and I got an interview appointment last November 28. The long wait is worth it since my visa was approved on the day of my interview and delivered to my home after 4 days. If you're lucky to get the earliest appointment time and be first in the queue, it will be a quick process. I arrived at the embassy around 7:30am and finished at 8:45. Unfortunately, they won't let in those with appointments beyond 8am as long as there's still a queue inside for those with 8am appointment."
"LOL what a nightmare. The whole experience. Irish citizen going on a J1, fairly straightforward. Because of the wait times after COVID it took 6 weeks to get an interview, so that time + the time the application was initially sent off they had our passports for almost 2 months (which you're not told when you apply - goodbye PhD graduation). Worse still when you phone to actually find out where your passport is, no-one will help and the staff on the phone are OBNOXIOUS. As another reviewer wrote, the management of the line system is a joke. You have people with 8.30am interviews queuing up outside with people who have 11am interviews. When the security call the next time slot they are letting into the building you can't hear so high chance you'll miss it when you're eventually called. Passport photos is also bit of a farce, you need American sized photos so make sure you have them, otherwise you have to leave to go get them in the local pharmacy and then come back in. Also, they take all your electronics so no Apple Pay. Make sure you have a card/cash so you can pay for your application at the window. All in all, moving to the States is already fairly stressful and the US embassy experience made it a hell of a lot worse by exceptionally rude staff and poor/non-existent management."
"I truly appreciate the quick turnaround and professionalism of the staff and security. I had visited the embassy for B1 business visa for an expedited appointment. Make sure to go prepared weather wise as you will waiting in a queue and be prepared for some delays. Don't carry any laptops, electronics , Fitbits. Also avoid carrying liquids. Mobile phone will be stored in a locker. The staff are cordial, the interview went smoothly, not too many questions asked, be prepared to answer clearly your purpose of visit and make sure its in line with what you entered on your application. My visa was approved on day of appointment and I received my passport within 4 days which was really quick."
