"So stayed here before, guy at reception didn’t know what type of room we had booked? Ordered sandwiches for family at lunch time looked poor, ingredients poor. On the flip side tea and coffee in reception was superb! Tray water chocolates. The deco is tired. Baths can only be run at a cool temp, I know this is good for the environment, so don’t have any baths as an option, no good having a cool bath if you want a soak. Restaurant upstairs great food outstanding. Hev."
"Beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. The staff could have not been more obliging, kind and accommodating. Rooms are a comfortable size and clean. The restaurant in the lobby serves delicious meals but the restaurant in the penthouse, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill is exquisite and offers a unique view you won’t want to miss. I highly recommend this hotel."
"Great location but that's about all the positives. One lift out of service and has been for many months apparently! Meaning there's only 1 lift for a hotel with 10 floors and the breakfast served on the 11th. Gave up after 10 minute waits for the lifts (others waiting had been there 20!) and walked the 7 flights to and from breakfast. And then we had to carry all the bags down the stairs on the morning of checkout due to huge queues for the 1 functioning lift, so if you do stay here I'd advise checking out early to avoid the crowds that were forming from 10am. The room servicing was also disappointing. We only had 1 towel for the 2 of us, 1 toilet roll for a 3 day stay and one teabag (apparently other rooms also had biscuits but we never did) and when calling to ask for another were told to "pop to reception" which is easier said than done with the lift situation. The pyjamas I'd placed on my pillow were also on the floor after the room had been cleaned, and not close to the bed so it looked like they had been thrown rather than placed on floor and forgotten. 4 double G&Ts also set us back £55. Breakfast was OK and room very spacious, but overall we were disappointed given the 4 star rating."
"Went there for one night, room and bed were comfortable and the breakfast area had a wonderful view of the city. Staff were able to serve me something that wasn't on the buffet when I requested it. Was able to go swimming and enjoy the sauna and steam room that came with it. Would love to stay here again"
"Hotel has a nice feel and beds have always been very comfortable. However I have had 2 carpet-moth-infested rooms in the last couple stays which was a shame. Some tiredness to the rooms - lights not all working, replacement room had no air con. The hotel is also situated next to student accommodation so be warned if you're staying during term time, particularly freshers week (or get a room with a view of the sea, not the city!)."
