"So I had a table booked for 19:15, but had to wait till 19:30 to be seated as it was very busy but didn't mind as the staff were clearly working incredibly hard! Once we were seated I had the Christmas menu wellington and the black forest cheesecake which was delicious! The staff were very friendly and attentive!"
"Pre booked a table but i wasn't on the list. Friendly staff but slow service. Main course was OK but not very hot. My wife didn't get her sauce with her main course or jug of custard with her dessert. Dessert was obviously frozen bought in bulk. Overall I would give it 6 out of 10 rating."
"My wife and I took a "Meal Deal" for two = 2 course evening meal and breakfast, while staying at Premier Inn next door. On the face of it very good value. However, the food was very poor for evening meal and poor for breakfast. Evening staff were good, morning were OK. I had calamari starter which came in a small bowl. It had been given a few seconds in a microwave over - the bottom few pieces were warm but the upper level cold. The quality and quantity were both disappointing. My wife could not get her choice and took mushrooms on ciabatta with mozzarella cheese - mushrooms OK but the cheeses was more like chewing gum and inedible (no idea why it went like that) The mains were 1) smothered chicken - hard reheated piece of chicken with cheese chewing gum and 2) rack of pork ribs - totally dry as if kept warm for hours and lacking any sauce during cooking (reheating), however the basic ingredient would have been very good had it been properly cooked. In both cases the chips were fine. Drinks were fine too. Breakfast was a let down, dried out mushrooms - not edible sad looking fried eggs, variable bacon and variable hash browns. The continental option (included in the cooked option) was fine, I think. Coffee was not great - other similar chain restaurants do better. On the floor next to our table (evening meal) was a (green colour) Rentokil mousetrap - reassuring that they are at least trying to eliminate the pests. Photos included."
"We stopped here for lunch while visiting Plymouth on business. The restaurant is quite easy to find, head down Plymouth road towards the Devon Expressway interchange and turn off right at Crabtree close before you get to the interchange. The car park was quite empty when we got there, and there was plenty of disabled parking. The entrance gave the appearance that the restaurant was closed, it was quite dark and the doors were closed, but yay they were open. We were shown to our table and the waitress remarked that she would be back shortly to take our order as they were busy getting ready for lunch, having just changed over from breakfast. This was quite evident as there was a large gathering of breakfast debris on the floor, and a tin of lip balm!! Our order was taken and within 20 minutes of sitting down we were tucking in, although I have to say at £13 I did not feel it was value for money for my "Smothered Chicken" which wasn't as smothered as it could have been and looked a little lonely on the plate. After we had finished the waitress asked if we would like some more fries as they were refilled for free - I wish this had been stated earlier, perhaps before we ordered. I would like to add that the disabled toilets were lovely and clean. All things considered, I would return for another family meal and as many fries as I can cram into my stomach as is physically possible."
