About the Business
Welcome to Tron Theatre, one of Glasgow's leading cultural institutions, located in the heart of the city's bustling Trongate area.
Established in 1981, Tron Theatre is a thriving hub of artistic exploration, showcasing an impressive range of drama, music, comedy, and dance performances throughout the year. Our intimate 230-seat main auditorium is renowned for its unique and compelling productions, which have drawn praise from critics and audiences alike.
But Tron Theatre is much more than just a cultural destination - we also offer a wide range of culinary delights in our restaurant and bar area. Our talented team of chefs use only the freshest ingredients to create indulgent dishes and enticing snacks, perfect for a pre-show dinner or a post-show drink.
As a point of interest, Tron Theatre occupies a distinctive red sandstone building, originally constructed in 1795 as a church. Since then it has undergone a number of reinventions, including a stint as a burlesque house in the early 20th century, before being transformed into a theatre in 1981.
Today, Tron Theatre remains at the forefront of Glasgow's vibrant cultural scene, providing an eclectic mix of entertainment and dining experiences for visitors and locals alike. "Amazing afternoon showing of Wizard of oz today. Great laughs all the way through performance. All actors brought their talents and quirkiness to each part. What a show. Highly recommend"
"Many years since my husband and I have been at a panto. Just returned from the 10:30 performance of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Theatre load of school kids added to the panto atmosphere. Johnny McKnight is a total genius! Wonderful writer, actor, singer, dancer- he’s got it all! One minor “complaint” - couldn’t make out Katie Barnett at all- don’t know whether it was the accent, diction or falsetto voice.Pity because we couldn’t catch Johnny’ s wonderful script and lyrics when she spoke/ sang!"
