That's why our founder, Lou, became a Beauty Therapist - to help people feel at home in their own skin. Lou believes that by improving the appearance of your skin through our various treatments, she can help you feel happier, empowered, and more confident.

When you step into our salon, our goal is to make you feel comfortable, safe, and at ease. Lou works with real bodies every day, including her own, so she understands any nerves or apprehensions you may have. She assures you that all those feelings will melt away once you meet her.

Lou, the owner and Beauty Therapist at LV Skin and Beauty, originally hails from the Waikato but fell in love with Mount Maunganui during a holiday in 2009 and decided to make it her home. Having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) herself, Lou knows firsthand the struggle of finding a beauty therapist who understands and can relate to her experiences. This is why she decided to become the therapist she was looking for.

Unlike the corporate beauty world, Lou wanted to create a place where everyone feels welcome, where the atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable, and free from judgment. At LV Skin and Beauty, we believe in creating a space where we can chat, have a laugh together, and make you feel like part of our family. Lou genuinely adores her clients and loves her job.

Outside of work, Lou enjoys catching up with friends over a glass of wine (or three), playing golf, and going for walks with her slightly crazy dog, Ally. She also has a passion for water sports and traveling, with New Caledonia being her favorite destination so far.
