At Frimley Park Kindergarten, we value manaakitanga, hauora, and ako in our group planning. These values guide us in creating a program, environment, and language that support the holistic development of each child. Our dedicated teaching team follows a Key teacher approach, ensuring that every child has a designated teacher who documents their learning journey in a journal book and online through Storypark. This approach promotes consistency and strong communication between the kindergarten and whānau/family.

We understand that children learn best through play, and we encourage their interests and self-expression in creative ways. Our teachers have varying levels of te reo Māori and are committed to incorporating aspects of Te Ao Māori into our program and environment. From waiata and kapa haka to rongoā and te reo Māori, these practices are dynamic components of our curriculum.

As part of our community-focused approach, we have a strong connection with Frimley Primary School, which is located right next to our kindergarten. We frequently visit the school grounds, fostering relationships with the older children, teachers, and leaders. We believe in the power of community and embrace the whānau feel that has developed through these connections.

We also prioritize the strengthening of Te reo Māori and ngā tikanga. From pūrakau and waiata to karakia and pepeha, we incorporate Māori culture into our curriculum. We also engage in local trips, celebrate Matariki, and embrace kapahaka and mātauranga Māori. Whanaungatanga, or the sense of belonging and connection, is at the heart of everything we do.

Frimley Park Kindergarten is part of a diverse community, alongside Frimley Primary School and the broader Ngā hau e whā e Kāhui Ako (community of schools). We regularly engage in professional development with local teachers and leadership to ensure we provide the best education for our children.
