Parkvale Kindergarten is a warm and inclusive establishment located at 108A Park Road South in Hastings, New Zealand. As an important point of interest and school in the community, we prioritize the value of relationships, or whanaungatanga, in our philosophy. Our dedicated kaiako (teachers) believe in fostering collaborative and meaningful connections with both tamariki (children), whānau (families), and the wider community.

At Parkvale Kindergarten, we celebrate diversity and feel fortunate to have a multi-cultural community that shares their knowledge, experiences, and culture with us. We believe that play is the work of a child, and our program is designed to emerge from the interests of each individual child. Through social interactions, mindfulness techniques, intentional teaching, role modeling, and caring, nurturing practices known as manaakitanga, we promote social and emotional competence in our tamariki.

Our natural environment provides a space that encourages wonder, awe, risk-taking, curiosity, and kaitiakitanga, or guardianship. We believe in being responsible stewards of our environment. As teachers with passion and care, we strive to create a warm and welcoming environment for all.

At the heart of our being are tamariki and their whānau. The values of Manaakitanga (caring and respect), whanaungatanga (relationships), kaitiakitanga (guardianship), and ako (learning) underpin our philosophy. We believe in supporting holistic development and valuing each child's uniqueness through a child-paced play curriculum.

Through mindful observation and purposeful interaction, our teachers guide tamariki to manage their emotions and develop meaningful relationships with others and our natural environment. We believe in nurturing the whole child and providing opportunities for growth and learning.

For families looking for early childhood education, we offer up to 30 hours of free education when you attest your 20 free hours. Please note that terms and conditions apply. We also offer a Diploma of Teaching (ECE) and a Post Graduate Diploma in Early Intervention.
