Owned and operated by Rich and Penny since 1996, Lynx Hair Direction has become a trusted establishment in the community. Penny's passion lies in hairdressing and taking care of her clients, while Rich manages the behind-the-scenes operations of the business. Penny thrives in the creative and ever-changing industry of hairdressing and loves working alongside her dynamic team of outstanding hairdressers.

One of our talented stylists is Andrea, who joined the Lynx team in 2015. With years of experience both overseas and in Auckland, Andrea is a loyalist to Redken, being an international certified Redken colorist and Redken certified balyage colorist. She is skilled in precision pivot point cutting and excels in all aspects of hairdressing, especially when it comes to creating beautiful blondes.

Antony, another member of our team, brings with him years of experience from both national and international settings. He is passionate about progressive hairstyling, encouraging change and healthy, shiny hair. Antony is confident in all aspects of hairdressing and loves to share a good story with a bit of cheek and lots of laughter.

Kamira, affectionately known as Karmz, trained under Penny at Lynx Hair Direction and has been in the industry for over 20 years. After spending time hairdressing in New Zealand and owning a small salon, Karmz and her partner decided to move back to their beloved Mount Maunganui. With a passion for hair and building people's confidence, Karmz is known for her caring and generous nature. She loves teaching yoga and studying Maori health in her spare time, even having a small side business making healing products.

Jazmin, our newest addition to the team, joined us straight after the lockdown in May 2020. With a background in both hairdressing and beauty, Jazmin is creative, caring, and compassionate. She takes pride in making people's hair look and feel fabulous.

Lastly, we have Ella, who is currently in her second year of training. Ella's journey with Lynx began during her last year of college in 2021 when she did work experience with us. By the time she started full-time in December 2021, she had already become an integral part of the Lynx team. Ella is passionate about hairdressing, a fast learner with natural talent and creativity.
