Whanaungatanga, the value of building genuine relationships, is crucial to us in the Nursery. We believe in effective communication and work closely with our whanau to create a sense of belonging. Our daily activities include ma times, music sessions, art activities, sensory play, and following the early childhood curriculum, Te Whāriki.

In the Toddler Room, we focus on fostering independence in children as they take on new challenges and learn through play. We value the partnership with our whanau and prioritize open communication to ensure that we are working towards their goals. Building strong relationships is at the core of our approach.

For our 3-4 year olds, we offer a preschool program that focuses on developing independence and self-help skills. Our tamariki have access to a wide range of activities and experiences that cater to their abilities and interests. We value open communication with whanau and involve them in discussions and updates through the preschool room and StoryPark. Our preschoolers also have the opportunity to interact with older tamariki and prep room kaiako, creating tuakana teina relationships and exploring an outdoor play area.

In the prep room, we prioritize ako-learning, empowering our tamariki to take on leadership roles within the center. We encourage a child-led program that aligns with their aspirations and interests. Our holistic approach involves partnership with tamariki, whanau, and the wider community to create a supportive environment. We are dedicated to preparing our tamariki for their transition to school, integrating "be school ready" values and skills into their daily learning. By the time they leave the prep room, they are confident, competent, and lifelong learners.

Furthermore, we have partnered with Foodbank Canterbury to share surplus food with our whanau, demonstrating our commitment to supporting the community.
